What are some tunes with great breakdowns you've heard?
Here's a few off the top of my head:
Darwin & Cube::Hard - Under Pressure. I know it's obvious, but come on! Very emotional melody with intense breakbeats. Unforgettable. Ranzor vs Counterforce - Zero Gravity. An evolving piano, evolving synths, a pulsing bass, and a haunting melody. Add those together and you get an absolutely wicked breakdown. SHM - Pupu Guinea Pig. I'll probably get flak for this, but I think it's a great hardcore cover of Papua New Guinea that stays true to the original while putting a modern, hardcore spin on it. The breakdown in the middle that calls back to the original is wonderful.

The breakdown in this is off the fcuking charts. I know it's not an original piece of music as such, but it's still truly monumental.

Both breakdowns in UFOs music maker are amazing, Oli Gs Miasma has an awesome breakdown, and In complete Darkness always gets me, even if it is blatantly sampled.

Yess!!! The mid section of Field of Dreams is one of my favourite pieces of music. So driving and energy building, immense!!! Never heard anyone else say it.

Add me to the list. ;)
And this is by far the better version when compared to the breeze & styles mix. That one turned out so bland. ugh!!

One of my favorite breakdowns would be in the song Re-Con - Enjoy. I could only imagine how it was to hear that song live at a rave. Mad tune:
Other breakdowns would include Tokyo Hardcore All Night Long and pretty much anything by Scott Brown.
As much as I love the "older" style of breakdowns the newer music coming out really keeps a party going. :)

Is that meant to sound like Elysium?

Enjoy is a reworking of The Silence by Mike Koglin which in-turn is a reworking of Depece Mode's Enjoy the Silence.
