umm as far as I know, nowhere. They may have some makina somewhere there, but the closest area to UK hardcore in Spain during that time is in Lloret de mar, which is an hourish east of Barcelona. Also Ibiza Goes Hard, which is gabber hardcore, will be in August.

thanks for your quick response...that's a shame...i'm booking a holiday to magaluf, but being an avivd uk hardcore fan I wanted to book a week where maybe I'd catch some kind of hardcore event...I was hoping with such a large amount of bars and clubs in magaluf, they'd be some place that played uk hardcore....i messaged breeze on Facebook, he says he plays around august at 'BCM' in magaluf...would I find hardcore there at all?

if you haven't been just book it to lloret de mar instead! trust me there are tons of clubs and bars there besides club colossos, which is where the HTID In The Sun will be at the week of the 17thish to 24thish of June. Other clubs though will play other genres of EDM.

Clubland often hosts events at Planet BCM in Magaluf, some of which have featured Darren Styles. I went to an event there during August 2011

I was there in June 2009 and Darren styles done a set at bcm. Although
It was a clubland night and he was the only hardcore dj that night. We left just after his set lol

Yeah when I went in '07 there was no hardcore. But certainly no makina either. It's only stuff aimed at the British market. Slipmatt was there doing a 2 hour rave-breaks set and that was pretty cool. I know that Styles does play at BCM most years now. Also Whizzkid does too I think on that clubland tour thing?

Whats lloret de mar like in terms of pricing and nightlife? would you say its similar to magaluf? I know magaluf is fairly cheap and has a decent nightlife, so i've heard, so if lloret de mar is like that but with the inclusion of uk hardcore...sounds like the perfect destination...and if I went july/august would there be a good chance a few of the clubs/bars would be playing uk hardcore? Separate question...what time has clubland xtreme or breeze/styles played at BCM in Magaluf, like which week in August/July in the past? (in case I did go to Magaluf instead)
...sorry if I'm asking loads of questions lol, it's just I do love hardcore, and if i'm booking a holiday I'd like to be able to find some uk hardcore on nights out.

To be honest lloret de mar is a shithole but if you go to Htid in the sun you'll probably have the best week of your life. I've been twice now, went to the first one in 2007 and was there last year, also just booked up to go this year. Both times have been amazing. Wouldn't go to lloret de mar normally though because it is quite a dump and you'll only get hardcore over there during Htid in the sun. Prices are reasonable though.
Hardcore isn't really played anywhere as a matter of course it is only at organised events in my experience anyway. So if you went in July or August you wouldn't get anywhere playing hardcore.

Yeah, to reiterate what The Scotsman has said, unless you can find details of specific, organised nights where Hardcore is going to be played - you simply won't find it being randomly played in bars and clubs. That applies to anywhere in The Med (or the world probably lol). The music is just simply a step too far for the average clubber/party goer. Far too risky if you're the owner/manager. Could easily be a mass exodus after ten minutes of 170bmp action!
I went to Magaluf in 2010 - absolutely no sign of Hardcore whatsoever. Just dancey remixes of Example and stuff like that (good enough for when you're cnuted).
I went to Ibiza in 2008. Searched the net before I went as extensively as is possible to find out if even one set of Hardcore would be played in one shitty bar in any part of the island and got NOTHING. I asked reps, resort staff and bar managers every night if they knew of anything anywhere - nothing.
My advice? Spend the money on going to a decent place, with a decent night life and just accept the fact you aren't going to find any Hardcore, and try and enjoy your holiday without it. Or, take the plunge and book HTID In The Sun.

Was in Magaluf last 2 years and not a sniff oh hardcore anywhere BCM included!
Sat and thought if they done a HTID once a week over there for the season it would be packing & bring alot of new folk into it. Instead the same old crap every year in that dump of a resort Lloret

It's a shame hardcore isn't more widely accepted...and popular...I mistakenly thought I'd go to magaluf and stumble across a hardcore only bar or something quite easily...I'll never understand how places known for wild parties and nightlife can be without hardcore...hardcore, for me, defines what a party is, and what the word 'rave' means. I'm glad I didn't go to Ibiza with my mates...I was initially worried I missed out on raving to hardcore at massive super clubs...but I get the sense it's all house stuff over there...so I haven't missed much ....I still don't get how you can have a rave without rave music though lol, I.e hardcore....I mean a house music rave? That's not rave surely lol...I hate all that dull toe taping stuff, where there's the same sound throughout the whole song...hardcore's so much more than that, it has melody and breakdown, and vocal ...it has variety...how and why house is so much bigger...I'll never understand :)

I actually didn't think that Lloret De Mar was all that bad, but then again I was overwhelmed by the idea that I was 5,000 miles away from home, and it was my first ever feel of European life. I loved my experience there! The city itself did remind me of the spring break/summer party cities that college students flock to in order to get completely trashed. I honestly didn't understand why families ever thought this was a good place for a vacation.
The hotels get a bad reputation there, but I loved mine. Although the rooms were a bit small and they didn't have any extra amenities like a pool, but I didn't care about that. I just needed a place to pass out from exhaustion, and a place to shit and shower. I barely spent any downtime in my hotel, unless I was eating or just giving my legs a rest from all the walking from exploring.
I guess when you're around that atmosphere all the time it's nothing special. But I enjoyed my time there. It's well worth it to do, at least just once Chris Core.

I guess it just comes down to what your looking for in a holiday. If you want a whole week of hardcore and raving then Htid in the sun is your only option. If your just wanting a party then there's countless resorts in the med such as magaluf, I've been to a few of these places and my view is that once you've been to one of them you've been to all of them. You will simply not get hardcore anywhere else other than Htid in the sun.
I'm guessing that your quite young (apologies if im wrong ;-)) so my advice would be go to Htid in the sun and you won't be disappointed, you have many years ahead to do maga etc as they will always be there. Htid in the sun although it will be the 7th year coming up is not guaranteed to keep going forever and it is something that should be experienced at least once.

I been to palma nova twice and magaluf is 5-10 mins next to it, no sign of hardcore mate. Nice place though :)

I'd love to go to htid in the sun...a week of non stop hardcore sounds perfect for me...only trouble is my girlfriend doesnt like hardcore...I was hoping to go to a place where hardcore is readily avaliable, amongst other music too...but judging by what's been said, I kinda feel what i'm looking forward doesn't exist in Spain, or even in the world...if only hardcore was a bit more popular...
