Hellfury Hellfury Hellfury:) What are you trying to do, rewrite rave history?:) How do you think new musical genres are formed?
Quite often they are a break off of another genre with different production techniques.
Fact is fact, drum n bass broke off from the early hardcore breakbeat scene in late 1993. Look it up if you don't believe me, from 1989 to around 1993 it was all called hardcore rave. Before the scene fragmented and one half went faster and happier while the other half went in a darker breakbeat direction turning into jungle and drum n bass
While drum n bass and hardcore seem worlds apart these days, facts are facts the genres are related.
Why do you think so many hardcore tracks have had drum n bass sections in them?
Why do you think hardcore and drum n bass are the most well known scenes for MCs?
Why do you think the two genres are the same speed?
It's no coincidence why these similarities exist, they were part of the same genre back in the early 90s.

Drum & Bass is just a subgenre of Hardcore.

Hardcore Breaks wasn't Hardcore. The bouncy Hardcore we know came after Breaks, so if anything, Hardcore is more a distant subgenre of Drum & Bass. Stop talking crap now, please.
Dear me Supernova, is this some kind of a wind up lol. Just read my reply to the Hellfury. Maybe then you'll learn something instead of being a silly fella.
By the way Bouncy hardcore techno was a breakoff from early hardcore rave and Belgian techno created by the Scottish. Guys like TechnoTrance, Scott Brown and Marc Smith were the pioneers.

Don't let me get Ishkur on the line Rafferty :P
So what if DnB and Hardcore share the same ancestry? It's like saying all electronic dance music is Detroid Techno/House!
I see only 2 reasons why Hardcore's related to DnB.
1. The point you made that they share the same branch in the ever so big genre-tree.
2. Hardcore takes alot of stuff from alot of genre's. Most of the time it works well.
And like I just said, I can find 2 reasons to disagree to these 2 points.
1. Most electronic dance music, depending on HOW FAR BACK YOU (want to) GO, share same branch.
2. ... no need to repeat what I wrote 4 lines up :P

Rafferty, please, dont try to read between lines. I never said i want to change history. I knew both genres had similarities but its more likely that hardcore is based on dnb (plus other genres) and not the other way around

It's no secret that all the genres branched from the same place, but Hardcore now is by no means the same Hardcore being produced 22 odd years ago. Bouncy 4/4 Hardcore was as much an innovation as Jungle was at about the same time. It doesn't make Drum & Bass a Hardcore subgenre. That is ludicrous. I've done my research, I've read all the books I've heard all the music. I'm not sure you're very aware of how it happened.
Hey, if we go on your logic, UK Hardcore is a sub-genre of acid house. In face its a subgenre of synth pop! No wait it's a subgenre of the first time anyone ever made music. I'm trying to work out your angle because it;s retarded. Drum & Bass always has and always will be much much larger than Hardcore, and it branched away very differently to Hardcore. Both genres have changed beyond recognition and are no longer of the same loins.
Now stop acting like a condescending wanker and do your research.

The Internet frowns upon your research and substitute it with any of the ideas blackcrow has.

Gammer's just uploaded a new mix to YouTube. He's tagged it with a load of Clubland X-Treme stuff, so I'm assuming it contains tracks that are going to be on the alblum:
