I spent an aweful lot of time here in the forums between 2002-2006. I was a DJ and even mixed a bunch of sets for the radio here and went on a production spree. Somewhere in 2006 it all became too much for me and I sold everything and put my music to the side. The last few weeks I got real nostalgic and dug up a couple of my old favorite rave tapes from SV 11/11/2000. So I decided to go see what the scene was like now.
Well I am actually suprised that musically not an aweful lot has changed over the last 7 or 8 years, I left the scene with banging Darren Styles tunes and DJ Gammer leading the way and that still seems to be true. I also feel like the music is very similar to where i left it. If i compare that to the transition from 1999 to 2002 where we literally transformed from 'happy' to 'UK' Hardcore. Well wow. It seems like the genre has really matured.
So anyway its nice to be here again. I will try and keep an eye on the forum again. I kind of missed it all.

Welcome back and all that bollocks. You don't need to explain your history here to people like me, we remember. Anyway, i have that Slammin' tape pack. There is a couple of really good mixes in there that are very nostalgic for me.

The big artists from 2005 like styles and gammer are more dub/drumstep influenced than before, Ham, Sharkey and Kevin Energy left the scene, Breeze is more into d&b and drumstep than hardcore, scott brown is only tweeting these days, Sy is an outlaw now, Unknown starts an own hardcore label... and so on, a lot changed :/

Just read up on the Sy story. Pretty big I would imagine. Kind of explains why he wasn't in the NYEve tape packs.

Since my post before sound a bit negative i think i should say some good things:
Rebuild Music: Thumpa is quite successful with his CD Releases. The lastest compilation was sold out within 48 hours.
Hardcore Underground: 9 Solo artist CDs (Brisk, Sharkey, Marc Smith, just to name a few) and Compilations are in the pipeline
Tons of new promising artists (specially Freeform made a huge step forward imo.)

I know I used it in a mix, but by god I hate "Come on Bounce" now :P
And Hardcore hasn't changed much? You've gotten a good restart mate, because you've missed out on the Bullocks called Clubland Xtreme Hardcore 8 and 9 :P
