This probably affects no one here, maybe Gary, but the upcoming weekender has been cancelled. Here's a link to the explanation. http://www.htidweekender.com/ Currently people are freaking about that this might affect HTID In The Sun, but I'm sure that won't happen. The 2011 weekender was cancelled but that had no affect on HTID ITS the same year. If this is keeps becoming a problem then I think that they should quit doing the weekenders altogether. Seems like no matter where they go they're bound to run into similar problems. If UK Hardcore had a big enough following they would do a big weekend festival in Europe such as Decibel and Dominator.

Doesn't affect me directly because I wasn't going but I understand and share people's concerns about a possible knock on effect to HTID In the sun. If they have put a lot of money into the weekender only to cancel it then surely it will have an impact on the budget for Spain. I thought HTID In the sun was done on quite a tight budget last year as it was (no DVD, no pyrotechnics till later in the week etc) so I can only assume it will be the same this year. Suppose it depends on numbers at the end of the day and I believe last years had quite a low turnout compared to previous years.

Well if you're comparing last year's in the sun with the one in 2011 then it's a bit unfair considering they went all out in 2011 because it was their 5 year anniversary. They had a lot of pyrotechnics from what I saw in videos, the waterpark was a big of a "gift" to ravers and there was only a charge for the bus to and from there, and they hired gabber hardcore international dj tommyknocker.
It's a lot to ask for to have someone give up a whole week to an event like HTID ITS. I work in retail and if I worked in men's clothing at that moment I might not have ever gone if I hadn't discussed it 6 months in advance with HR.
How big of a crowd does the Weekender draw?
