Riche (United Kingdom) Riche is a relative newcomer to the scene, starting DJing in April 2012- but has certainly come up with alot since then, including collaborative productions with Alex Bassjunkie signed to The Future of Hardcore, Vacuum Music, Magic Chord and Justice Hardcore. He has also played at such events as Hardcore Olics, Get Hardcore, Mind Blown and Powercore. Technical Difficulties (United Kingdom) DJ-ing DJ Laney-G started DJ?ing in 1994 playing Old Skool + Happy Hardcore. He started off playing at under 18 events in many clubs in Bournemouth, whilst still at college. The nights became popular with the locals and his biggest event was at Poole Arts Centre, where he DJ?d to 1000 ravers! Laney-G was taught to mix and scratch on vinyl decks, such as the X-Men (X-FADE, X-CESS, X-CITE) Now officially known as the ORGAN DONERS!!! Having carved a name as an up and coming DJ on the south coast, he was invited to play a set with LEE-KB at the One and Only ?Manor Nightclub? in Matchams Lane, Ringwood in 1998. This was alongside established DJ?s, such as Vibes, Dougal, and Vinyl-Groover, to name a few. As time progressed, LEE-KB and LANEY-G were asked to be residents at a night called ?Experimental? at the Opera House in 2002, which was a monthly occurrence. DJ Lee-KB has been in the dance scene for over 15 years, despite having started DJ-ing in the world of underground music at around 18. Many nights were spent playing at free parties and boat parties all over the South coast. Encouraged by his love of chart music to the many different forms of dance music, in the scene today. Technical Difficulties and Producing After having a break to go travelling and start up a family, Laney-G and LEE-KB met up with their main producer ?ED SHOCK? in 2007. This is where they started to concentrate on producing their own tracks using all their previous years of experience in the dance industry to create their record label ?TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES? Every Friday night LANEY-G and LEE K B would travel from Bournemouth to Southampton and spend countless hours, defining their sound and learning the world of Ableton Live. Shock has had several contract offers from Drum and Bass, House Record and UK Hardcore Labels, but is totally focused with LEE-KB and LANEY-G on the UK Hardcore tracks that you hear today on the TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES Label. The feedback from ravers and producers in the hardcore scene has been overwhelming with a surge of interest and the versatility of their music. Technical Difficulties have released 83 tracks from 2008-2013 and had collaborations with Eufeion / Kandie Rush (KRUSH Records) / DJ Patch / Track master Music, and Executive Records in Australia. Lastly the TD Crew were signed to ?THE FUTURE OF HARDCORE LABEL? as head producers on the label in 2012. TD currently has 17 tracks out on this label, which is growing fast in the UK Hardcore scene. Highlights from these tracks are ?NUKE EM? (no 4 track it down top 100 charts), ?BLACKOUT? (No 8 track it down top 100 charts) ?ELECTRIC? (No 8 track it down top 100 charts) , ?AINT TALKIN BOUT LOVE? (No 8 track it down top 100 charts) and lastly ?YOU SAID YOU? (Sold 75 Copies, Peaked at No 7 and has been in the top 100 on Trackitdown UK Hardcore charts for 9 weeks ) Watch out for the TD Crew in 2013 as we will be collaborating our sounds in the studio with some of the biggest artists in the scene, and there are still some secret huge bookings coming up for later in 2013, which will be announced as soon as the event pages are announced !!! DJ ViperStar (Singapore) Justice Hardcore DJ ViperStar was first introduced to the genre of UK Hardcore while browsing YouTube for music to listen to during his exam period and decided that was the genre he enjoyed a lot more than pop music on the local radio stations. Initially starting out as only a listener that enjoyed the genre, a DJ that was playing pop music during his prom night (think S3RL?s Press Play Walk Away) sparked off his passion to begin doing the DJ stuff himself instead. After attempts at electro and other slow genres, he finally decided that he would go with the UK Hardcore genre and grabbed himself a copy of Virtual DJ to learn with. Eventually, he bought his first gear, 2 CDJ-900s and 1 DJM-900nexus while running the AustralAsian Invasion Show on Kraftyradio.com which ran for about 1.5 years before ending. To try bringing UK Hardcore to Singapore, DJ ViperStar formed a team of Hardcore DJs (the Singapore Hardcore Crew) and runs the all new KraftyRadio.com Kiasu Mayhem Show, adding a little Singaporean touch to the live shows with the Singlish Word of the Week. He also plays on the monthly Digitally Imported Hardcore Radio (DI.FM Hardcore) Urban Hardcore Network. DJ ViperStar started the ?Bass Connection? mix series that features an MC to spread the hardcore sound to Singapore and the rest of the world. MCs have/will be featured so far included Harlequin, Skatty, Offside, Thunda.

there are only 2 points i dont really like about the picture:
1) The first 7 is different as the 2nd one (talking about that bit on buttom, not the size, it looks stange)
2) background. why taking a desert picture? kinda bleak

1) I'll get that fixed.
2) It's supposed to be the ocean, actually (you can see it more clearly in this earlier version).

I thought it was a desert too man :-/
Maybe you should put a sexy mermaid in there, make it more obvious? With glow-sticks? Yeah, a sexy mermaid with glow-sticks. Maybe, using the glow-sticks to do stuff to her fit mermaid sister.
Now we're talking.

Same here. Though that's what the hardcore scene feels like sometimes to me, making it relevant.

i thought it was a dessert because of that brown / sandy fog on the buttom. remove that heavy fog or use another background.
if you like to add an ocean as background use something like
this (not sure if CC)
this
this
btw., i guess spy doesnt like it because background is dark / even a bit grim, but its overall nice

i was way more depressed with the scene 2 years ago. how can someone be depressed when fade, bananaman and demo returned???
ok, it's not good old bonkers times, but with those legends returning i kinda hope hhc returns as genre aswell, even though most guys may declared it as dead...

There's a few things wrong with this. Primarily, it's basic design principle.
I'll start with the colour. The scheme doesn't work at all. At all. You have yellow (mixed poorly with greens and blues) on turquoise FX, layered on a blue gradient, which fades into desaturated browny red. You need to start with 3 main colours that compliment each other and work from there. You don't mix vibrant colours with murkey greys - that's deductible just by looking at it. It's an ugly mix. You've also tried to mix a yellow/orange into the background behind the title. Blending yellowy orange on blue doesn't work well, they're composite colours.
The 7D7 title just feels wrong. You have 2 font's for the same title. Why does the first 7 have a serif, and not the larger one? The second serif is the one to stick with. The title also has ornate patterns on it. An ornate stylized title on a desert/ocean setting? Is there a link I'm missing? I think it's also worth pointing out that the ornate patterning on the larger 7 looks like a deformed penis and testicle.
The transparency effects on the title aren't nice either. I assume you've used a "hue" or "difference" transparency effect on the title, because the random greens and pink baffles me.
I'm also concerned about the subtitle. "Welcome to Hardcore" has a gradient blue effect on it, the "7d 7" title doesnt. It makes one of the titles feel out of place.
Layout wise, the "7d7" and its subtitle are roughly in the right place, but the title at the top is far too close to the edge of the canvas. You need to have a margin around the edges of compositions that you steer clear of. Obviously backgrounds bleed to the edge, but you don't put typography or important visual elements there. I feel that's important to say before you put logo's touching the edge or something. It's a case of weighting and proximity (Basic design principles).
Lastly, what the hell is a desert doing there? As a designer, you design pieces that viewers have to interpret. Mountains and sandy fog leads people to think it's a desert. Even if it's meant to be an ocean, what's the semiotic behind that? What do oceans have to do with Hardcore? Are we introduced to Hardcore in the middle of an ocean? I think that when you have a titled album, you have to theme the artwork to link (however strongly) to that title.
I think this is a bit of a design nightmare, and I'd take it back to the drawing board. As an amateur designer, I'd look up the principles of design. They'll teach you how to use colour, space, sizing, typography, hierarchy, weighting, and so on.
Now, a question to the organizer:
If this is the 7th series, why are we only now being welcomed to hardcore? Didn't the last 6 volumes have Hardcore in them?

It honestly seems like nobody will fully critique my work (thinking it will hurt my feelings, maybe?), so major kudos to you for actually going into that amount of detail on what's wrong.
There isn't much more I can say except that I'll try my best to fix it, if that's even remotely possible.
