on the brink doesnt always mean you can see or hear it.
then tell me about all the hhc-only events, cd releases and producers i missed so far between 2004 and 2012.
imo., i could only take that hhc revival seriously when HU announced their hhc album plus demo, fade and bananaman return.
HHC only events? You mean those in Holland that have been on for every year since forever?

I read that it's not all about only about the usual "Happy Hardcore"-event anymore and more and more parties have been established. I guess the Dutch havn't recognised the UK/Aussie/North American-scene yet, because they are face to so much other electronic music. Remember me when I joined this forum? I was a complete British newbee as well and I still need to learn much much more.

It still surprises me how you managed to avoid the 90's UK scene lol. Do/did you you not get English Hardcore in Germany?

Yeah, me too! Well I was 10 when Hardcore went up through the roof - way too young to go raving. I was strongly influenced by commercial media which only played Dutch and German Hardcore. And even if I'd have been older: Frankfurt was more into Gabber and Hardtrance back then. Some German/Dutch CD series included British Hardcore as well, but my pocket money was 10 Deutsche mark only during these days - not enough if you want to buy plenty of CDs (and sweets, comics and football had been more interesting to me ).
It actually surprises me how often I've been close to the edge to realise about the British Hardcore. Technohead, Perplexer, Q-Tex and The Prodigy probably are the only british artists I knew back then. I had thought that the boring British were way too influenced by the U. S. (boy groups, Hip-Hop, etc.) to create sth like rave music/culture (big mistake!). XD
I knew the U.K. rocked the 80's, but that sound was way over.
And when the Dutch/German scene died out 1997 I quickly switched to Trance. Back in 2003 after Trance got boring I found some of the early UK Hardcore tracks (f. e. Dougal & Gammer - Like Fire In the Sky) and I liked them, but I thought that they simply are amateurish tracks of some nostalgic persons. XD
After I finally closed my personal chapter with Trance in 2007 I was musical homeless and started to listen to old-school tracks again (early Trance/Hardtrance, Eurodance, Happy Hardcore) until I found DJ Ravine who introduced DJ Cotts to me, who lead me to this forum. And that's how it all begun (I re-started to listen to Trance again, but nothing currently beats Hardcore for me , although it could do way better today).

Well there's S3RL. Sure he may not be everybody's taste but if there is a producer that embodies anything close to that cheesyass energy from the 90s then it's him.
But if you mean a revival of just brining back all those old songs, then honestly they never really left. They got played plenty at this past year's HTID ITS. Darren Styles, along with Force, played it for the first hour of the 4hr darren styles set. Sy and Slipmatt had two sets of it, one to end the 5th night and then there was the old skool yacht party which I regret not going :(

Every HTID event there has ever been has had a room dedicated to 90's stuff (or almost all at last). I would have mentioned that but it doesn't as 'HHC only event'.

I would love for there be more cd releases. Like, seriously. I have been finding my interest in UK Hardcore going down with the lack of availability of new cds. I've been spending the past year collecting older albums, plus Eurobeat albums. If these hot shots are coming back, and an upcoming Happy Hardcore revival is on the brink, there had better be more marketing for the music!

Though I really like some of his stuff with Starstruck, I agree with this statement.

i quite like the basslines that s3rl makes but i can't stand the weird fiddly vocals the guy does that ruin all his tracks.

I think if it where to happen it will happen away from current uk hardcore. In the same way hardcore breaks evolved separately from the usual old skool places. In order to make a big change the "scene" needs new blood and lots of it.
Everyone in the Uk is sick of 'The cuts' and everyone was also sick of Gormless Brown. I have always opeted for an Old Skool comeback and respect anyone who is brave to try an Old Skool sounding tune. Even in 2005 I felt like this and everyone loved DJ Eclipse - Be Happy (Vaggabond Remix) with the cheesy Old Skool vibe and hard kicks it was like proper Hardcore again but it couldn't compete against The awful Raverbaby sound that had its peack during Chavmania.
