Some proper riffed up Hardcore for you guys. ;) Set myself the challenge of sticking to just one Synth for the crack so this was made using nothing but V-Station and a few drum/fx samples.

Nice mate! I love furious/fast riffs like this. Proper momentum gathering stuff.

Thanks mate, glad you like it. :D Yeah I love this sort of riff, more Freeform I guess but seemed to fit over a more mainstream sound nicely too! I've updated it with a bigger and more complete clip btw.

Well if there is one soft synth that i would choose for this challenge it would definitely be the V-Station. It's a real work horse. In fact it's pretty much the only soft synth I've ever used for most things. Even though it sounds pretty cold, it is so versatile and does everything that i want/sounds right so well in every other way that it doesn't matter.

Nice work Gary, really like that mate.
It's a nice mix of Freeform & uplifting UK Hardcore that builds & moves well.

Yeah it's amazing what it can do really considering its age and price. I don't think I've actually finished a project that I haven't used it in. :) Maybe we need a HappyHardcore.com production comp that uses just one synth and a certain limited sample kit, that could be fun.

Thanks mate, glad you like it. Was thinking it would work well as a bridge track between the two.

I think that would be a very interesting comp. Deffo one that interests me more than a standard comp. It would be a more accurate display of skill. The synth would need to be a free one though of course. Something like synth1 as that's an amazing free synth (although I've not tried any for a lot of years)!
