We're capping the number of tracks per mix, and I will supervise all discs this time. Pwomith!

Personally I'd like to see the cap set somewhere between 17 and 19. 4 mins minimum per track should leave enough time for a decent length intro & outro and a good 3:30 of tuneage (?)

not popular with me I'm afraid! I see hardcore as something that should be mixed with loads of tracks, perhaps thats why you have this lineup? Anyway still looking forward to it.

That is f**king stupid. By doing so you could be limiting the creativity that djs put into their mixes.
One of the best things that I've always liked about the HU albums is that they aren't artist mix albums like the CXH has been. Each of the CDs have always had a diverse taste of hardcore that has tracks produced by a plethora of producers, without one producer noticeably dominating that mix. Yea there are times that the tracks leave you a bit too short and leave you wanting more, but these albums have always been great promotional tools for people to go out and buy those tracks.
Personally I don't feel like there really should be a cap on the amount of tracks there are. It's pretty obvious that none of the styles from the djs on this upcoming album are anything like Gammer and jampack a set with minute long tracks with a ton of mashups. Hell even Gammer doesn't do it that badly in his hour-long sets just like he has done in his 20ish minute sets. I'm sure that the albums will average around 25 tracks each. As long as it sounds amazing, a track cap is really unnecessary.

This is absolutely perfectly stated. The lengths of tracks in the CD's 2, 3, and 4, were absolutely fine! A breakdown and first drop can be more than enough of a song, my problem is when they give like half the last bit of an intro such as track 4 in CD 1.
Seriously, wtf was that?
I think Hardcore Heaven: Summer Session was *perfect* with their track lengths. Maybe base it off that.

I am going to demand or criticize absolutely nothing and leave it in the capable hands of the outrageously talented people involved.

Big tings agwan!
Personally I prefer to hear the breakdown and first drop of each track, after that I'm ready to move on. But to each their own. :)

I like the free nature of HU albums. The fact DJ's can do what they want I think is brilliant!! So capping mixes for me...

I support the capping of tracks on a mix. What's the point of having 26-30 tracks on a mix if it's going to take 6 months-to a year for the tracks to ever come out? I like hearing a good minute of DJ-ing art instead of just a few seconds. Having 16-20 good, strong tracks with lots of of transition techniques is just perfect. I want a cd to enjoy, not sample.
