There is no single song that can sum up the scene. There can be songs that sum up what you love about hardcore, but they cant sum up the scene itself, pure and simple.

Wait Save Me is Hardcore? Must have been a Hardcore remix I hadn't heard as all the other versions where club mixes, Donk mixes, DJ Rankin remixes (sped up version of the original with another song and part of a remix thrown in) and I heard some 17 year old on the bus talking about a forth coming Dubstep mix!

I think it won Track Of The Year in 2006 mate. I don't think I've ever bothered to investigate whether the Hardcore was the original, or whether it was a popular club track that become Hardcore-ized.
For the record, I love it. :-)
