A Sharkey & Kevin Energy set from 2002. Nice and dark and urinates over the modern Dubstep that all the chaveys want to listen to today

why do you feel the need to compare different era's all the time?
I wouldn't urinate on Dubstep crap, I'd desperately like to shit on it. The reason? This crap even sounds like recording your own diarrhoea. And uplifting it only shows the devastating status of rave culture at the moment, if they surrender to such unraveable sounds (I better watch my tounge before I call this insult being music).

The amount of (sub-)genre generalising is too damn high.
Dubcore isn't the main genre on here and Dubstep in general is not the only music in clubs, no need to bluntly flame over whole genres. The majority is not well produced / or just simply "sucks", maybe, but there are actually some good tunes out there aswell. Same goes for Dubcore (japanese dubcore matches my tastes better than futureworld's imo., before people start asking)
Anyway, keeping this aside, I will give this set a listen now.

Thought someone might want to listen to it?

and that's fair enough, but there really wasn't any need to bring up the modern era was there?

Ten years ago someone would have slagged off the Sharkey set in favour of a 1992 Slipmatt set. In 10 years time there will be someone going on about how Dubstep was better in the 2010s lol

Yes and we all know that person 10 years ago would have been you and in 10 years from now that person will be you!
Seriously though I'm with Wong regardless of how "shitty" you think the current sound is taste is all subjective, and it was not necessary to make a comparison in order to have someone listen to this clip.
In fact I think you deter more people from listening to the track after your 2nd sentence. Some of us have been here long enough to know your stupidass schtick Smoogie.

LOL. Unbelievable. Possibly an early contender for post of the year.

noooo noooo and NO!!!
the set is good tho, and i am still undecided with what i should agree more. with the argument that there is no need to bring up and discuss modern tunes (because they are so bad it's better to not even mention them) or bring them up and show HOW BAD they are...
i really dunno... problem would be solved if happy hardcore would become again what it has been a few years ago.

like in 1995-98?
for example. you really wouldnt believe it but i have no problem to listen to stuff from 1994, 1998, 2003, 2005, up to 2011 ... then it has become substantially worse. that ofc doesnt mean that there were no shit tracks at all back in the 90s or that you deffo wont find a decent track in 2013 but it has become worse... thats for sure...

despite the fact that dubcore seem to be popular and interesting enough for the big names I have the feeling that 2013 is actually a far better year than 2010 or 2011 for example; feels like an upswing imo.
