So, I am trying to get some work as a DJ, its proving very difficult. I play many styles but I do love my hardcore, and really want to DJ hardcore tunes. problem is there is never any hardcore events where I live. So I went on Facebook and sent messages to all the clubs in my area asking if they would be interested in hosting a hard dance / hardcore night and sent them links to my soundcloud account. And amazingly I got a reply back from a club who ARE interested and want me to ring them up to talk about it. whoop whoop!!!

Yes where do you live exactly? I find it hard to believe that you are not within a reasonable traveling distance from a UK Hardcore event considering you are from the UK.

anybody know of any to try in that area? I did find a few but apparently it was the wrong type of hardcore..

Population about 140,000, yea I guess that's small-ish! You're probably the closest to Rowan than any of the rest of the UK residents from here are.
You definitely should gather some interest and see where else you can find some hardcore fans from that town or who are willing to travel to that town to see you play. Not sure how it is over there but here in the US a lot of clubs who book djs they've never booked before to bring in their own crowd too.

Where about near Boro dude? I'm from Darlo. There is Elavation in Durham who have had Gammer, Styles and Breeze there lately and there is Stomp! in Leeds who have had Sy, Joey Riot, Kurt, Dougal, Fracus & Darwin, A.B & Douglas and more.

I'll have to check out them, not heard of them before. live in Redcar, wife is from Darlo, only ever been out once in Darlington ages ago, think I went to Blackets went it was open

As Claxton and Warnman have said/recommended, you should get yourself to Stomp! in Leeds. Great event run by a bit of a legend. Always superb line-ups and an atmosphere that is basically unbeatable.
