I'd rather have a massive shit in my hands and clap than listen to donk. hahaha

I've been to a fair few event's over the years when my mates fancied a change.

Maximes, Pier, Monroes ect ect, just doesn't really do anything for me, or should I say the music policy didn't.

my eldest was born in that hospital and I lived over the field in Great Lever then moved up Oldhams :) Farnworth is nothing compared to those two haha

Ye i agree it's not as rough as Oldham haha.

I though Great Lever was in Farnworth ?

'like' gets used a lot up here on the end of sentences, I'd always presumed 'lark' was just a regional pronunciation. Most people with a Lancashire accent pronounce all their vowels wrong. I prefer Apples to Purrs. Take the lift of the Sturrs? I'm off to get my urr cut. Can I have a drink of watter?

Like gets used down here quite a bit, as well. But in a slightly different way. Imagine a London-ish slangy accent:

"Naah what I mean liiiii?"

I'm up in Barrow and despite being a former Lancashire town, it doesn't have a Lancashire accent, it's now in Cumbria, but but doesn't have the Westmorland or Cumberland accent people associate with Cumbria.

I've had mates move to live in Salford and when they come back to Barrow the very Barrovian and broad Maate, Haate, Paaid, have all had their vowels shortened to more of y sound, like mayte.

I've noticed Barrow doe's seem to have it's own thing going on were accents are concerned, but saying that I only know one person from there.

Rugby mad place I believe.

Bit of an odd place Barrow, because it's a pretty new town. It went from a population of 2 thousand people in the mid 1800's to 60 odd thousand by the end of the 1800's, with people pouring in from all over but mainly Scotland and Lancashire. So whilst being somewhat isolated it's been a melting pot of British people.
