You realise she loves Hardcore just as much as I do?

Samination sounds genuinely offended by this news.

Nice to see nearly 2 pages worth of comments, i just went out for the night.
My mate let me play a Bonkers 13 Scott brown mix with his crazy bass sound system in his car
Even though i was about 14 or 15 when it came out, and it should be my old school but i always consider the 1990s sound the old school as alot of it when i first heard it is what i exspected and wanted to hear.

This made me giggle.
And I definitely wish I still had my old tape packs and mixes. I lost the mixes stupidly reformatting a hard drive without realizing I hadn't actually backed up the mixes. And the tape packs disappeared in one of my many moves. There isn't a lot of modern 4/4 hardcore I like, but up to 2007 it was pretty much my life! (And I still love bbhc/rave/stuff with breaks 145-175bpm)

I think i moved away from it, i was starting to notice a whole ton of pop chart stuff (What i hated) being remixed on some hardcore compilations ... mainly the clubland x-treme hardcore series
i listened to hardcore to get away from alot of the crud but i just felt it was going in the wrong direction and felt major labels were just trying to kill the buzz while some really good acts weren't getting the listens while these shitty poppy/hardcore collabs were getting the credit

yup a couple times. never sold any of my stuff but just didn't have the desire to play/listen to it for a couple months. was usually around heavy gaming times in my life and when hardcore was going through sounds I didn't care for (see trance vsts =p)
thank god for the internet as I can dig up old mixes on youtube and get all nostalgic and get the 'ardcore rush I used to get as a teenager...and listen to tapes that melted/were stolen/eaten by pets & decks

There's too many independent labels now, and I hate having to shift through the crap to find something I like, which in itself is becoming harder and harder with Hardcore being all about experimenting with other genres' sounds with no retention of its own sound except for the tempo. I would hate to think, "Gone are the days of Lisa Abbott's vocals laid out over a raw/bouncy beat".
I hope Hardcore Underground vol.6 is able to deliver some cheesy/happy songs. If the album itself is more breaks/electro/freeform, or just simply UK Hardcore with a bland, washed and rinsed heavy on the male vocal sound, then ya..I'm just pretty much done with this era of Hardcore music and will continue to listen to the 90s and mid 2000s stuff.
the majority of this sums up why im enjoying things at the moment :)
independent labels pushing underground sounds and having enough of a voice to change things. This has been a long time coming !

I agree labels like Rebuild, Trackmaster, Watchtower, Stamina ect ect have been a god send to me recently. plenty of diversity and fresh talent never goes amiss.

Yeah, absolutely mate. And Hardcore Underground, of course, with all their albums and artists albums and what not.
Mini-shout to Magic Chord as well. Offering a nice selection of well-needed positive, uplifting euphoria.
