I guess his comment is worth a nomination in forum awards for "most unlikely post", right?

Most unlikely post would be one from you where you say that a song sounds best at less than 4,000 BPM.

:-)

"Michael Mansion - Let me In (Darwin's Hemstock Remix)" sounds best at original speed

unlikely enough?

Potentially the most remarkable thing I've read on these forums in the last five years.

I would hate to think, "Gone are the days of Lisa Abbott's vocals laid out over a raw/bouncy beat".

I hope Hardcore Underground vol.6 is able to deliver some cheesy/happy songs. If the album itself is more breaks/electro/freeform, or just simply UK Hardcore with a bland, washed and rinsed heavy on the male vocal sound, then ya..I'm just pretty much done with this era of Hardcore music and will continue to listen to the 90s and mid 2000s stuff.

Well, don't panic too much. Just got back from Spain and have two/three weeks to finalise HU6 but I can safely say you'll be serviced more than adequately!

There's some other stuff going on which will probably thrill the living crap out of you, but I won't reveal too much too soon.

This will be looked back on, IMO, as a great year for hardcore. What at times has felt like postal chess is now leading somewhere really good, really fast. The signs are all there! No need for smeared animal entrails to see 'em!

Personally, I only found my hardcore in 2008 when I used it as a natural anti-depressant to replace the SSRIs I was on at the time (that's actually more or less true, I did stop taking them).

Arguably, according to a lot of people, I got into it at the worst possible time - right at the start of a decline after a "golden era" - but I've never really agreed with that. CXH4 was my first taste of hardcore and the album that snared me -- and what an absolute monster of an album it was!

Anyway, as Hard2Get said (is your real name Matt btw?), if nothing in the last 5 years has put me off permanently, it's likely I won't find anything that will. The furthest I've been from hardcore in the last 5 years has been a couple of months worth of breaks whenever supersaws started to lose their appeal but I've always found my way back.

From 2002 to late 2007, It was a golden era.. So many fans coming back as well as new ones finding the genre.

Tons of compilation releases, plus alot of the oldskool tracks being brought out on comps as well... We had a nice mix going on.

The first clubland x-treme hardcore wasn't bad at all.

Never a truer statement. It may well be my favourite Hardcore album of all time. It's utterly outrageous, and by far and away the best Clubland X-Treme Hardcore of all time.
