Just a quick question for that tune (since i'm about to buy that one tune in far better quality from someone - and dougal doesnt give a damn since years...):
Does the original version of Invicible suddenly ends at 7:31?
It sounds like the last 29 or 61 beats have been cut out...

If someone is ripping it for you i don't get why they don't just give it you for free. I can't believe anyone would accept payment for such a thing. This is the worst kind of piracy.

So, what if it happened to digitally made MP3's from an official store then? :)
I know it happened to one Camel track, where the first 15 second where cut off.

i actually find it even worse when big names ignore me when i even offen them 100EURO (not the first time) for just one tune, then they complain about piracy. Double standards at its best.
So, i do pay for really good rips with no crackels, since i dont care about buying vinyls and ripping tunes myself anymore.
Back to topic:
Someone, please check if Dougal just made a mistake or not at this tune.
PS:
We need FAR more ascii on here -.-'

I don't see anything morally dubious about sharing rips of very old vinyl-only tracks with people for free. If they haven't been released digitally and the vinyl is out of print then the tracks can no longer be monetised so you're not even taking money from anyone. And if they did then come out digitally at a later date, you'd probably still buy them because they're going to be better quality than any vinyl rip.
When someone starts accepting money for those rips that person becomes a bit of a cnut.
Anyway, on the original topic, the rip of Invincible that I have also cuts out before the end so maybe it does end suddenly, I'm not sure.

If someone takes the time to rip something for me in acceptable quality, i will buy it AFTER original producer ignored me, even though, i completely understand your point (even when its too harsh at the end).
I do agree on the rest.

Totally, but in my case, only for like 30 tunes.
They should just take their time and release all that vinyl-only (unreleased) beauties on one unmixed comp, even when it has to be a project on kickstarter or other.

I mean it's an ok track but certainly not worth giving some dickhead money for!
People actually selling illegal digital rips, I never thought it got as low as that. Giving it away is one thing but to sell it?
Wasn't it released on vinyl? What am I missing? Can't you just buy it & rip it yourself?
It's a fair point that Elliot makes, mabey it's not the end of the world if crappy rip copies do get passed around but to be selling them is a joke.

Well, i asked for a good rip within this forum in the first place (offering money from my side, since it takes quite a time), since i simply dont have the nerve to buy a new turntable and some vinyls on discogs again. ripping tunes from such an old, sensitive medium is another factor... i did that in the past, and i wasted a lot of time to clean those vinyls (since discogs sellers didnt cared to clean them before), i hated it.
I try to avoid buying 3rd party rips, but if producers dont reply after several mails over the last years, its their fault when someone gets the money (ps: still, i'm thinking about buying it from someone else, but i didnt buyed it yet, but i'm very close to do it).
And since i'm a huge innovate fan, it's worth it, at least for me...

That's the same argument from the people who support piracy who say that the artists give them no choice, so they have to download it instead. Only this is much worse as someone is actually making money from it. Someone not being able to get the tune in the way they want doesn't give them the right to steal it instead. Although as stated i don't think passing around vinyl rips where no money is being made is a problem. And clearly no one else does either which is why youtube is full of them. I just think paying or accept money for it is stupid. Only an arsehole would accept money imo. Not because it takes time to do (it's not a difficult thing to do. Again, that's why youtube is full of rips), but because they have no right accepting money for a tune that isn't theirs.
As for producing ignoring your offers. Well they can't really just sell individual unreleased (in this case digitally) tunes to people. They don't know what your intentions are. You could be wanting to share said tunes all over the place and since they aren't available to buy digitally, they won't be making any money at all from it.
Don't get me wrong though. It makes absolutely no difference to me either what you do. I couldn't give a shit.

i do support the scene, i sent jd-kid 50euro for example for Carinae months ago, did it appeared on filesharing sites? no. so, never link me to filesharing :) even though, i understand your points.
i just want to get my hands on a decent copy, thats all, without buying new equipment (edit: turntable) and getting angry, because cleaning vinyl really gets on my nerves.
ps: if noone wants to take his time to rip me a vinyl for free, in wav quality, then i have to offer something, don't you agree?

1: YOU can find the vinyl (and probably pretty cheap on ebay/discogs/etc.)
2: YOU can rip it yourself (which means you can alter the quality to fit your standards).

He never does. At least not the first time around.

I did this time, but the laziness in his quest for music made me just have to type what I did anyways.

Ebay is rife with people selling Mp3s and even rave flyers! some guy's got a printing press and just prints off old skool raver flyers at random, the same bonkers ones go on there week after week after week after week.
