Anyone ever heard any Psycore, 96-98 Hardcore, normally Dutch or Italian, some early Freeform feel but with harder bass drums.
The second track in here, for some reason never released but proper hard, just the way I like it! (5:41)

I don't know what you mean! These tracks are simply proper old-school Gabba/Hardcore-tracks which developed from early Techno with huge acid lines back in the 90's.

Never used to be a huge gabber fan, but did enjoy Clarkee's area 51 style sets from mid to late 90s that used to be full of 303s.
Nothing remotely Psy about it though. Most of the Psy/Goa stuff from this era was quite fluffy like the Platipus stuff.

Which had more in common with early rave than modern gabber imo.
Anyway, all 90s gabber was pretty depressing!

Best kind imo. If you also don't like 90's Happy stuff then that would explain a lot.
I like my happy just fine! It's not the kickdrums I don't like about that stuff, it's everything on top of them.
To be honest though, there were a lot of sounds used extensively in various forms of hardcore in the 90s that just set my teeth on edge so I'm not the best person to talk to. :P
In my book, the only good things to come out of the 90s were happy hardcore, piano-driven old skool, jungle (and then, later on, dnb).
I like a lot of modern gabber though, for what it's worth. The evolutionary sequence that purists say pussied out the whole genre is exactly why I now like it. The more supersaws the better, I say! Let the Dutch become the distorted kickdrum division of UK hardcore! What a glorious day it will be! They will realise that we were right all along for using so many saw waves but we'll join in an embrace just the same and all will be forgiven. :)
Please don't hate me for that last part, friends.
