Why are they so rare these days? Used to love seeing back to back sets but most events just have one DJ at a time now. Only back to backs we ever see now are ones where the DJ's produce together anyway (Dougal/Gammer, Fracus/Darwin etc) making it pretty pointless.
I know it costs the promoters a bit more but it definetly makes for more exciting sets.

I disagree. I seee line ups and think that there are too many. For me that is usually the sign of a poor event when they have too many b2bs.
I think it can take away from what that dj can do and dilutes their set. In an hour you dont get opportunity to play many tracks. If you have two djs then you're halving the amount of tracks that dj can play.

Most top tier dj's bar gammer don't do much during their set anyway and a lot of tunes are very predictable. If you mix it up with 2 Dj's that have a different style then it makes for a more exciting set imo.
I remember uproar used to do whole night where the theme was back to backs and they came up with some interesting combinations, for example Dougal b2b Scott Brown, Breeze b2b Sharkey etc, which led to some great sets. At least it was different. Every big rave line up I see these days just has sets mainly from DJ's on their own.

Where? As I said in last post most big rave line ups I see don't have many/any. To be fair I don't really tend to check out line ups of smaller events because there aren't any up here in sunny Scotland.

tbh these points can be appied either way,just depends on the djs who are playing together
some of the best sets i played out have been b2b , if you regularly do a set with the same dj it makes adifference.Even more so if there is friendly rivalry, as you tend to try and out mix and out play each other with track selection lol
I've found if it's with someone you don't know so well,they hang out the tunes they play...and worse of all is when they keep rewinding the tune ,so they get more time on the decks......which is a bit much......so pros and cons for this topic
