hey we all know what site it was on, and everyone has the right to their own opinion.
but hixxy doesnt deserve slating, he has stuck with the scene for years, and has always produced top drawer tunes.

and he is bonkers (along with sharkey)
; )

You know what, your right, there has been allot of badmouthing going on at Hixxy's expense. I'm personally not much of a Raver Baby fan but he does deserve Mad respect. I mean, essential platinum all the way and hi mand sunset ( antisocial) weren't half bad either. I too feel the need to give some respect for stikin it out as well, i'm not too pleased with how he';s led the scenen into this trancy era but he still is stickin it through tryin to find new stuff to do with the hardcore scene. Unlike Vinylgroover and slipmatt and Trixxy etc who have completely given up on hardcore ( especially Vinylgroover, he's become a real asho*e)

I agree with you James. I may not always agree with him musically, but no one should slate this man. When hardcore was down, he lifted it up on his shoulders and took it to himself to push it out there again. Without him, I don't think there'd be much of anything left.

it's happened twice now, someone even took it a step further imitating his name and saying raver baby's shutting down after xmas. i'm not surprised he hardly ever posts on there coz all that ever happens when he does post is get his threads locked by everyone else.

apparently you're shining (now baby 11) was gonna be out by the end of november and it's now mid december and we've just seen baby 8 hit the shelves. we all know how good you're shining is and he's taking ages to release it,that's what all the fuss is about.

a fair few of you run a record label on here and those guys can understand how hard it is to get the record released, and yes i can see it's time consuming. hixxy must be going through quite a bit now trying to keep his promise on getting a load of tunes out by christmas. i just wish ppl could see there's a slim chance of that happening and just buy the record when it comes out, bitching isn't gonna speed things up or make things any easier for him.

Well said Mouse!
One of the main reasons that I don't post on "certain other forums" is because of the way that people like Hixxy are treated. A lot of his tracks aren't my taste, but he has supported hardcore in the good and bad times. He deserves respect for that.

Heh although I'm a big fan of Hixxy's music and everything he's done for the scene, from my experience of him, he's a total ****. Simple as. He just savages people because they dare to say things like 'oh I dont think they should have 3 raverbaby DJ's at Slammin' and 'when are all these record coming out that you promised months'. He just gets abusive if you dare question him.

he normally gets abusive cos ppl say stuff like ur new raverbaby stuff is just sped up trance, or why play trance tunes at 45rpm and shit like that.

he normally replies to posts fine, you'd get wound up if someone started 'dissin' ur tunes and ur mixes when uve stuck by hardcore all the time, even when others have ****ed off.

hixxy rules

: )

I haven't seen any of this dissing you're talking about, but as a general rule I think that every producer should be willing to accept criticism of his/her work - it comes with the territory. While much respect goes to Hixxy for his contribution to hardcore in the past, at the end of the day none of that makes his music immune from criticism.

Slating him personally, however ... now that's a different story.

I suppose I can understand that. But I still think his music is brilliant. From back in 96 threw to now, ive loved more or less all of it. Hixxy in my opinion has led the way in our scene and to critisise the man in anyway is like a great big kick in the bollox. It is very unfair as Hixxy is 'Mr Hardcore'. People call Hixxy's music trancey, what about Breeze n Styles, or even Scott Brown? Thats trancey too but I see no critisism towards them. Dougal's hardcore is trancier than Hixxy's. No critisism for Dougal either!

Basically, Hixxy is the best! He has kept the scene alive by continually working to better the music he plays. Its like sum1 else said on this topic, Raver Baby - need we say more!!!! As far as im concerned, nuff sed!

Hixxy to me = GOD! GOD = Raver Baby! Raver Baby = Quality Hardcore for all of us! SO STOP THE CRITISISM!

I think a lot of this boils down to "people being different" for example Hixxy seems to get upset at criticism and thats just how he is, now insult some of DJ Sy's tunes and when people say to him ooohhh your cheesy lyrical tunes are crap he'll just laugh it off, I mean people are gonna react differently it's just how we are. I see absolutly no problem in "Constructive" criticism of a tune but not critisicm as a person, there are ways of adding your ideas to someone, rather than slagging off them personally or saying how bad it is just add the idea. for example instead of saying "ur new raverbaby stuff is just sped up trance, or why play trance tunes at 45rpm and shit like that." it would be better to say I feel that the tunes a little trancy and maybe you could try a few more breaks and riffs. You know you probebly won't change someones mind for them to then change the style of music they are making but at least you havent then made an enemy or upset someone.

Sy.

How about just saying "I don't like it"? Isn't that valid? I mean, 'tis a diff'rent matter when you talk to someone face-to-face, but on a web-forum or similar medium isn't it expected that you express your opinion?
