It's that time Again! I tried using Claxton's sexy image as a starter but facebook wouldnt let me make a direct link :P

Anyways, to my review. For most tracks, I have pitched the tracks up to 180BPM, because if I don't like them at 180, the chances are I won't like them any better at original speeds.

Like usual, I will grade the tracks, this time from 1 to 10, where 10 is the highest score.

Tracklist:
1-01 --- Invader --- Departing Earth --- 5/10 Not really my kind of style, but pitched up to 180BPM it sounded alittle better.
1-02 --- Cyrez --- Raver's Legacy (Freeform Mix) --- 7/10
1-03 --- Aryx --- Lubaantum --- 7/10
1-04 --- Nomic --- Rule Breaker --- 9/10 A very melodramatic track. I like it alot.
1-05 --- Le Dos-on --- X-Ray --- 7/10
1-06 --- David Shox vs Sisku & Paroxe --- End Of Time --- 6/10
1-07 --- Peaks & Pinnacle --- Right This 5econd --- 6/10
1-08 --- UFO & K-Wire --- Placid --- 4/10 I kinda like the nice n huge buildup, which just leads to an outro. Dissapointing.
1-09 --- Obsys --- Beaupuyclubbers --- 5/10
1-10 --- A.B --- Infatuation --- 4/10

2-01 --- jD-KiD & DJ Corr (2) --- Carinae --- 8/10
2-02 --- Chaos (9) & 3Star --- Paradise --- 7/10
2-03 --- Andy Dee --- Skool Of Hard Knocks Part 2 --- 6/10
2-04 --- David Traya --- Anyway --- 6/10 It's not a "World End's Melody", but still good.
2-05 --- Pinnacle & Thumpa --- Army Grenade --- 3/10 1 minute melody. Did I ever say your tracks a fillers? :P It's no Like a Bulldozer, which I liked alot.
2-06 --- David Shox vs Dani Delirio & Eska + Balo --- Impulse --- 8/10 La Maquina!
2-07 --- Synthwulf --- Cold 2013 --- 7/10 Synthwulf is liking to remix classical sounding tracks. Kinda dislike how he always ends up making it more breakbeaty than freeformy (yea, nagg nagg nagg).
2-08 --- Transcend --- Evolution --- 6/10 Takes too much after A.B or Douglas's style of killing a buildup.
2-09 --- Substanced --- Anxious Soul --- 7/10
2-10 --- Olly Addictive --- Hand Over Your Flesh --- 6/10

3-01 --- jD-KiD & David Traya --- Latika --- 7/10
3-02 --- Darwin & 3Star --- Cue-Dos --- 4/10 The melody is nice, but the middle part, nah.
3-03 --- jD-KiD --- Unforgettable (Gammer Remix) --- 10/10 I've said my piece about this track. Better than the original
3-04 --- Scott Majestik --- Acid Dreams (Douglas Remix) --- 4/10 Kills one build up just to kill another one just 30 seconds later.
3-05 --- Andy Dee --- DreamCatcher (jD-KiD Remix) --- 5/10
3-06 --- Olly Addictive & TTE --- The Problem --- 5/10
3-07 --- Ranzor --- Vortex --- 6/10 Ranzor has always been an oddball :)
3-08 --- Little Fella --- Dance With The Speaker --- 5/10 I presume this is frenchcore?
3-09 --- Pinnacle & Thumpa --- Like A Bulldozer (The Speed Freak remix) --- 5/10 For most part, it's just a slowed down Speed Freak track. The ending is the best part. It actually played the part I loved the most about the original
3-10 --- Vyral XIII --- Ardor --- 8/10 Not sure if speedcore or freeform, but I still like it :P

Overview:
No real winners on this album for me.
There's diversity like usual. I need to dig up all the scores I've done on the other albums because I think the mixed genre albums are usually the once I rate higher thn the freeform ones :P.
The UFO track was a letdown IMO, but Gammer's remix of Unforgettable pulls the album up.

A comment to Olly Addictive and TTE. I like that you guys still use hard kicks and bass, but somehow the tracks feel lacking compared to the Tazz, Shanty & Sharkey stuff from 2003-2005. Mostly on the melody part. It works for Gabber so why not Hard kick Freeform?

Score: (no fcking around with multiplying or anything, values are as they are, so the score will be lower because of that)

10's -- 1
9's --- 1
8's --- 3
7's --- 7
6's --- 7
5's --- 6
4's --- 4
3's --- 1

183 / 300 = 61%

I don't really get how Ardor is speedcore, since it would have to be almost double the speed it already is :P either way it's a good track xD

So yeah I might as well copy and paste what I sent to Thumpa:

quote:

Ok so I'd thought I'd give a little feedback, I honestly didn't think there was one bad track on the album but my favourites were:

Aryx - Lubaantum
David Shox vs Sisku & Paroxe - End Of Time
Obsys - Beaupuyclubbers
Chaos & 3Star - Paradise
Synthwulf - Cold 2013
Ranzor - Vortex

Douglas' Acid Dreams remix makes me feel like a massive heat wave is approaching, I love the tracks of his that sound like that, I felt the same with his Techno Club remix from Die Another Day

I didn't think much of Army Grenade when I first heard the clip, but nowI think it's pretty cool B-)

I felt Lubaantum wasn't quite as good as Aryx's previous tracks which have always astounded me by their quality, but I still thought this was a great track

Pretty much everything by jD-KiD stood out, and while I did say on hhc.com that I found Gammer's remix really meh, it's kind of grown on me, but I still think the drop is *slightly* disappointing as it follows a fantastic breakdown :3

Obviously there were loads of fab tracks that I haven't written about but I'd probably be here all night if I did, but overall, great compilation once again from ReBuild Music ;)

I've had mine a good while and usually i'd write some sort of review for the album but i'm not going to because i'm not going to say a load of negative stuff about something just because it isn't really my thing. I've pretty much fallen away from freeform in the last couple of years and i haven't enjoyed much of it i've heard either. I avoid the rebuild freeform albums as a rule because i find it hard to really like the stuff unless it's euphoric and pretty amazing. I wasn't expecting a mostly freeform album like i mentioned in the thread on facebook and maybe it's my fault for not going through all the previews because i see thumpas compilations a safe bet but nevermind no harm done and it's not a bad listen but there's not a lot that interests me on there.

That's why i wouldn't consider myself qualified and objective enough to review it. I will say the sound quality is excellent though and gammers remix is pretty good except for the stupid note sequence that utterly ruins it for me.

I love the old 2003/4 big kick sound, but we try not to walk well trodden paths. I think a 2003/4 style tribute track is something we would love to do at some point though.

I don't believe this will turn into a Future World/Breeze/Gammer thread. IF it does, I presume it will be off topic and then locked. Thumpa always said he wants people to post their reviews or praises, no mather how good or bad. If he can take a "it's good" comment, then he can take a "it's crap" one aswell.

TTE: I don't mind if you don't :) I'm just a sucker for melodic tracks

That's the thing though Samination i don't see it as crap i actually think the production is very good and there's nothing horrific like clubland xtreme dubstep but because the way freeform in general has gone recently i just find i can't see anything that stands out. I have read a lot of MASSIVE appreciation for the album on facebook and these are people that are into the stuff so i'd value their opinion far more than mine as they are the folk that know what they are talking about.

Before i do an review, which takes some time since i got my copy just now, i have to say the digipack quality went worse compared to Freeformania. It's thinner, not so stable (which is probably the reason why mine got a bended corner) and doesnt really stand out when it's in my cd shelf :( But CD covers, artwork (even when i think it was more like a sketch for Khanna) are excellent.

Currently on my second listen through and a few firm favourites starting to emerge.

Watch this space for a proper review soon.

..Well, won't really be THIS space, more like further down the page.

Just got it today. Just ripped CD1 and listening to the first track. Good start. Had to repeat my unintentional detail from my last "I got my copy of [ReBuild album]" picture.

Also bonus: Hairy legs.
