Unknown has had quite a while now to prove himself as a solo artist. So far I'm inclined to agree with the conclusion that Sy brought most of the talent to the table in terms of writing and ideas.
Like Breeze, he's a solid engineer and maybe he helps to prop up collabs but he doesn't really seem to have what it takes on his own. He already has a permanent top-tier fixture though so it probably won't cause him too much bother.

Ok it's been over a year already, I cannot believe people are still asking this question. If you have been out of the loop with this site and/or with the scene I can understand why you would still ask it, but you do pop in here at least twice a month, so the answer is pretty obvious.

Yeh I am kind of out of the loop, but yes I venture on here every so often, but can't ever recall about unknown being mentioned in all the shit with sy, I obviously read the topic and it was all about storm, I think I even asked at the time did unknown stick up for him (so to speak) and can't remember getting a reply, or can't remember anybody else talking about unknown and why he didn't stick by him type of thing, if it has been posted, I've obviously missed it

Don't recall Unknown ever saying anything in support of Sy but you just need to look at who he collabing with, events he is playing etc to see which side he has come down on....
My first listen to the Sy & Al Storm track on HU6 and you can well and truly hear Sy's influence - whether or not he presses the buttons etc the contribution is unmistakable.
This is exactly what is missing from Unknown's solo stuff and is all the proof I personally need that Sy was the better half of the pair. Shame.

Very good point. I was thinking about this the other day but didn't feel that it warranted a brand new post..
Over recent years, with the exile of Sy, Seduction retiring, Squad-E no longer being a major contributor, Brisk living in Australia (album on the way, I know), Kev Energy & Sharkey being in and out/here and there and Scott Brown being absent for a while until HU6 - has the scene lost more key players than we've realised and, if so, has it affected the scene that greatly?
Brisk, Sy and Seduction were all the rage when I was growing up. It's a shame they're not involved so much these days. I defs miss Sedders. His contribution and work ethic throughout his career in hardcore was remarkable.

I know a fair bit about what has happened since, I speak to sy regularly, basically Chris didn't back him up whatsoever, I know more than the average person about what happened, but it's not for me to make it public,
