you may like that idea but lemmie tell u a short but random story
my mate put on a nite last week in a pub
and it was the landlady's 45th birthday too, the place was full of old people, and young people
but noone was up for dacngin and was just sitting there
when i played.. it was evil
id rather have been suddenly dropped infront of 40k people, than had to play there
it was THE hardest set ive ever ever had to play, it was evil, people just sitting there looking at you like wtf are you doing
but by the end of the night they all loved it
but as far as comercalisation goes
**** it
does the music change? if people start liking it as your playing it .. nope
it can only be a good thing

I have no objections to hardcore being played in a pub. Here in Australia, once or twice a month on a Friday we have a night called Logic. A cosy place where u can sit and have a few beers, chat to the DJs and listen to sum great music ... i only wish it happened more often

^^ I agree totally. I mean, hardcore's a primarily dance-oriented genre but it's nice to be able to just sit down in a more social, less party-oriented atmosphere (like a pub) and still be able to listen to hardcore, instead of the crap golden-oldies/top40 that you usually get in pubs.

wtf is wrong with the golden-oldies? down w/ the top 40 though =P
i've had mixed opinions when playing hardcore in a pub style environment, i think it really depends on what type/group of people are there...also the intoxication level of people there comes into factor as well

In are local they play the same 2 cd's over and over a michael jackson album and a NOW cd! Couldn't really picture some of the people who drink in there listening to hardcore. In a pub they only usually play neutral music people are familiar with so not too scare off punters.

Hardcore just does'nt have a place in a pub.
Pubs are where you chill with your pint.
