Slow and funky? Something like groovy or lounge?

YO Hydra... I think this "UK HARDCORE" has nothing to do with the hype thas has been goin' on back in the dayz over here in Holland..
Probably the kids over here aren't ready yet for the "bonkers" stuff, although I think this "new" sound will be picked up by some people more and more in near future. I guess people just have not discovered it yet.... are you also on partyflock? when you use the term "happy hardcore" people think you are talking about (dutch) mid nineties stuff or something..they don't know what is going on in 2002/3.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. The word 'Happy hardcore' is just sort of a taboo in the Netherlands... people immediately think of childish tunes, and especially a lot of hardcore/gabber fanatics don't even want to hear about HHC...
I'm also on Partyflock by the way, yes :)

beste vrolijke mensen!
I'm from holland too, I agree with light brigade that the music could be a success over here, but it will take a while. I suppose it will remain a small scene because there are no party organisations like Q-dance or ID-T who wanna promote it, no promotion means no parties, no parties means a small scene.
Tracks like 'new sensation', 'serious hardcore', 'terrabeat' are much better than the average new style track or hardstyle (which is very boring, especially those rip-off tracks). And that's even agreed by friends of mine who are really into Gabber.
I'm also originating from the Dutch Gabber scene and still I like Gabber a lot, I was also on Thunderdome and it was fantastic (remember Darkraver playing six days on the run?!). I always liked HHC, even in 1994; those manic breakbeat, vocal tracks from Vibes, Luna-C, Vinylgroover were amazing..I always have followed HHC, in the last 2 years the quality of the tracks has improved a lot compared to 98-00!
I think the new HHC sound is very good to mix with dutch New Style and it can bring some new fresh elements in that sound (Bonkers 9, cd3!). So who will be the first Dutch DJ to spin some new fresh HHC? And perhaps putting a HHC track on an EP from Scott Brown on the Neophyte label?
It's funny to see that more and more people are getting into the new sound!

Yeah, that was awesome, Gizmo and Dark Raver proved that night that they are still a good tagteam :) I also liked DJ Rob's set a lot, he even played the happy hardcore classic 'Hold me Now' :)
