https://soundcloud.com/hardcoreunderground/the-hardcore-underground-show-podcast-07-fracus-darwin-may-2014

Really enjoyed this podcast, there's so much upcoming stuff, highlights for me:

4:55 - Red Moon ft. Meryn(?) Ryan (Fracus & Darwin Remix)
Wicked vocal on this one, and awesome synth melody, very uplifting, cannot wait to hear this one played out, will be dancing like a loon with the biggest of grins :D

7:26 - Joey Riot ft Sophie J - I turn to You
This one's been heard for a while but it's a great rework with redone vocals

22:40 - Scott Brown - Gang bang Society (Weaver Remix)
Nice to see this get a new remix, Scott Browns new output hasn't exactly been through the roof but things like this on Evolution is surely just a beginning

25:55 - Ryan Kore - Love Again
One of Ryan's tracks was featured on the last podcast, he's selling an EP on his bandcamp which I promptly bought from hearing the last featured track (http://ryankore.bandcamp.com/) More uplifting, pure hardcore.

29:07 - CHVRCHS - Recover (JAKAZiD Bootleg)
A freebie! Really nicely done, running out of adjectives now for these little reviews now... (Free D/L @ https://soundcloud.com/jakazid)

All this, along with the usual bits from the Out Soon? Happy Hardcore Underground and bits from Futureworld featured too led me to write the following on Facebook -

"What a great podcast, so much upcoming to get excited about, no one else is doing what you lot are yet you're continuing to feature new music from across the board, any label, new artists etc. I think it's safe to say that you're seeing the bigger picture, lets just hope some of the rest can catch up"

I think people should keep beating the drum because it really is feeling like the genre is making progress....

Yeah, never let go remix is straight out of Live at Rehab.

I am always torn between not liking spam, and trying to get across how crucial this event is. If we pull it off it will be genuinely scene shaping, but only if enough people are there. I am bored of being interesting in a corner.

If all goes to plan, those who had a chance to be there and weren't will rue, RUE, it.

Is the event doing well ticket sales-wise?

I'm really excited about it, still think I'm going on my own though. Out of the few people (about 6) I know that like hardcore I don't think anyone is interested, which I really can't understand. The HU sound is perfect to me and I assume the backing of the 'top tier' will help push the wider appeal too. I just hope that the view of this very limited sample isn't the view of the whole

Think things are well in line with expectation, I just find it bizarre that anyone even faintly interested in the genre isn't already queuing. This is a one shot deal to put the music first, and unite the scene. Reward activity, bring it home. Anyone who isn't going, bar a death in the family, is about as Hardcore as candy floss on a hob.

I will dedicate every available resource, and millijoule of energy, into making them regret it until their dying day. Seminal album, flame bursts, co2 jets, ridiculous lasers, you name it. RUE, I said.

Spiffing. I am a big fan of rewarding the faithful, it is how we survived, and eventually thrived, in a fairly inhospitable climate.

In a partisan scene, it's time to stand up for what you believe in.

The age old curse of the raver strikes again

Too much brand loyalty, not enough quality loyalty.

Did you forget to tell them that Dougal, Gammer, Kubfiller and Darren Styles will be there? as well as that nasty cunt MC Storm? I'm sure they'll be rushing to get into the doors once you namedrop them, which if they will, that's pretty damn sad.

I wrote similar on sound cloud praising this podcast, it's a top top podcast and will get a few listens more than it usually does. Loving the whole new skool take on old skool. "Get Busier" I liked, well that whole section was awesome:-)

I expect the HU podcast to be a serious contender for best podcast this year! Oh as well as Happy Hardcore Underground for best album! The sounds on the album should satisfy the ears of even the most commercially blinded ravers!

They know who's there....I don't really know why, they are all quite a bit younger than me though, so the old-skool side of things probably doesn't interest them, and since I don't think they're too interested in HU then they're left with 4 or 5 names that they want to see.. very very much their loss I might add.

Storm? Any thoughts of going just evaporated :(

Reminds me, still got the Chris Unknown HU2013 CD going begging or I could make a hammer video...

You could, you know, go to the other room when Storm is on? And smashing a CD? You could, you know, just not play it?

There's no way I'd avoid an event because of 1 DJ or MC i didn't want to see.

So much in both rooms i want to see, going to be horrible choosing on the night. AND the album recording, AND a load of my favourite people in the whole world.

Definitely shaping up to be one of those memorable nights.

Now, how do we convince the average raver that there's more to life than HTID/Ravers reunited etc etc...

The albums aren't overly HU-centric, though, usually. If they like the Lethal Theory stuff, they are mixing a CD LIVE just like... Scott Brown.

Flabbergasting.

The podcast is good precisely because it showcases people like Dougal & Gammer, Styles, Klubfiller etc alongside people like A.B, JAKAZiD etc. Denigrating them is as detrimental to the scene as anything that's ever been done to HU.

Usual drill, our best advertising is interested parties exalting something they believe in. Go.

I wasn't saying the fact that they like those 'top tier' guys was their loss, but rather that they don't seem to be interested in HU.
