With CXH gone, Hardcore Underground will pretty much be the only CD series left to feature a multiple-mixed album featuring tracks from a variety of artists. HU has 4 albums until it reaches its 10th, and I think at this point it's guaranteed to happen considering how well HU is doing.
So if HU reaches it's 10th volume, should it be a 'Best of/Anthems' album like CXH is doing for its 10th one, or how Bonkers did for its 17th release in the series?
If so, who would mix them? And what tracks would be featured on there from the albums currently released?
There's definitely got to be a Fracus & Darwin album, a CLSM & Entity album, and Storm has to have an album as well, possibly with Al Storm or Kutski. 4th one being the freeform cd is really a toss-up, with Thumpa having been retired by that time, although coming out of retirement to do the 10th one would be sweet. Or if A.B and Douglas are still around it would be great to see those 2 make such an album.
Thoughts?

I think a HU classics album would be perfect. Loads of people are new to the label and there are shit loads of older tunes out there that i guarantee a lot of people won't have heard.

Jesus, no. Unless it's a freebie, or really cheap, or something like a bonus disk or whatever. It's always bloody disappointing (to me, at least) when you hear of a new album release, that turns out to be a 'best of', full of tunes you've already got. Nice to hear them again, like, but not a full album of it.

I can't see us ever doing a full price classics album. We do stuff like the Ravin Eye cd, and I fully intend to get the back cat remastered up to standard before we ever offer it digitally on our store, but.... Meh. Most of the Hu stuff is, and has been, readily available all along. There's not much in the way of exclusivity, and I can't encourage people to look back on material they were denied hearing with rose tinted glasses.
I *can* see some sort of defining f&d megamix cd on the horizon to complement their trio of artist albums. That's about as far as it goes, though.

not right this moment, when they hit their 10th volume in the series. The question was if at the 10th one, would you want to see HU release a best of HU album or not? Doesn't mean the 10th one HAS to be a 'best of' album, the album could be one that isn't numbered like the "best of bonkers' album.
2nd part of that question is who would you want mixing it and what tracks would you want on there.
