Yeah, I can understand that. USH was shit the entire time I was a member. The hardcore subforum was just a battleground.

I'll defend USH to the death, in it's heyday it was the best hardcore forum going, and I had such a laugh on the waffle board, I'd give anything to see that archive.
Anyway, back on topic...

We don't really do on-topic here, do we? :P
I think I joined USH substantially later than any heyday it might have had so I'll just trust you on that one. I joined in about 2009, I think.

In response to the actual podcast, there is some really, really good music on there. Darren Styles really has, just got it. As long as he is making music it will be excellent.

I was using daily it since the late 90s, 2009 was well after the hey day. I still remember the buzz and excitement of the early 2000s as it was becoming the new, exciting 'UK hardcore' scene, people asking about these new Raverbaby dubplates Hixxy was playing, USH winning the best website award at Slammin' Vinyl, Bonkers being resurrected, the John Peel special, etc. PLUR was still going strong and everyone was happy.
The waffle section of USH contained some of the funniest things I've ever seen, I was well pleased to be a part of it, and seeing all the other websites slating us, when we weren't really that bad, was funny.
Became difficult to argue with at the end though. I actually felt sorry for folk who joined later on, a couple of the regular users made it extremely difficult for new guys. Sad, really.

who exactly were the pieces of shit regulars at USH that were complete overall cunts? Did they ever actually attend any events in their lives or were they similar to the ones here that complain of the current state of hardcore yet don't really go anywhere outside their comfort zone? They loved to think they knew what they were talking about, but the more I read their comments the more it sounded that they might have never been to a rave at all.

This. The guy is a musical genius. If he ever decided to make a more popular genre of EDM I've no doubt he'd be a huge success worldwide.

Yeah, definitely this. He's hardcore's greatest treasure.

Shame I missed out on that part. :(
I only remember people being ****s to me pretty much straight off the bat. The aggressive atmosphere made me act like a dick too.
Traffic Cone is the only person not on this forum that I remember being safe enough to actually have a conversation about music with.

i wouldn't really say gammer & styles are "still making hardcore in 2014" havent heard anything form either in ages that sounds like uk hardcore ( no matter how much they label it as such..) the whole futureworld team is shit. re-cons music sounds particularly shit; he musta hit his head music sounds like he is tryng started jacking off swedish house mafia. so bad.
thats cool they didnt take offers to do "other things" but honestly the music is clearly changed and geared to a much more mainstream crowd, not wasting time for any of them anywhere anymore. watching gammer drop trap is just embarrassing. really widh north america would get on the underground tip. so much good uk hardcore/ makina out of japan and more underground type stuff here.

This is the response I got when I posted a clip of Re-Con - Died In Your Arms Tonight in 2009. It never got released unfortunately, and my clip of it was the only one of this track ever.

Yeah, I've got no idea what's going on with Re-Con these days. 2012 was a turnaround year for him -- since then he barely releases 1 track a year that I actually like.
However, I have a lot of faith in him. The sheer number of bangers he's had a hand in over the years makes me inclined to be very patient with him.
