ive heard from an older m8 of mind that happyhardcore raves origonally started out as hardcore raves but for gays? i dont really have anything against gay's but it was something i didnt want to hear. And is it still so? i havent ever been to a proper Rave because of location and age so have never experianced it in person, so can any1 confirm this information for me????

Yeah! Absolutely spot on and true. There's nothing I like more than going to a Happy Hardcore event and sucking some meat.

The great thing about raves in general is that they are open to all people of all walks of life, and there is USUALLY no problems...noone gets judged.
I dunno about homosexuals likeing Happy hardcore specifically. Sexuallity has nothing to do with your taste in music :P
Your friend is full of piss.

Not sure, Hard house started off predominantly gay in clubs like heaven but i've never heard of the same being said about hardcore.

^^ maybe that's what they meant - early raves were differentiated from the other segments of the party scene by their emphasis on free hedonism and autonomy (the TAZ ideal), and welcomed all within their ranks, including gays.

so what if it was? you say that gays don't bother you but evidently they do if you have a problem with the thought of happy hardcore being raves for gays. i really haven't found a large following of hhc with the homosexual community, mainly they seem to like house more than anything.

In the 1980's, house and disco music was kept alive and played in gay clubs and bath houses, and this lead the way into the house music raves of the late 80's. By then more straight people began to attend these events, and people of both persuations could party together.. By the time raves were popularized in the early 90's, they weren't classified as "gay only" events at all.. everyone who was into the music and wanted to have a good time with friends would go. Happy hardcore didnt come about until a few years later

think about it seriously...
Typical gay parties usually play either Madona style music or house.
Gays are of course most welcome to any party in my opinion. But I don't think your friend knows what he's on about.
