Anyone got any tips for promoting mixes?
I know of some of the stuff like spamming them here, uploading them to soundcloud and mixcloud, but to be honest, those are kinda "passive" advertisment. I'm not really for promoting (because it feels spammy), so is there really any other way?
So, should I go to Bebo and start talking like a chav or do a rankin and just play various songs with various sound effects that doesnt fit? :P

Upload to happyhardcore.com radio :)
Basically branding, you gotta get people to know your DJ name and want to download it, how do you get branding... well posting it everywhere... these days because of facebook people sit there and wait for news to be shoved into their faces, people don't really go looking for stuff anymore.

i wouldnt really do a mix these days unless it was for a radio show or asked for but try and make it original, using the same tracks that have just been released that everyone has doesnt always work, maybe go for a theme e.g Nu Energy Classics, 93 Hardcore etc....
having new tracks or obscure ones that people wouldnt know and promos seems to help and like Silver said branding , artwork , clean mixing/using the right transitions , chopping gammer stylee, I actually do know what I'm going on about now but these things may work !
