ive offered to run an IRC Based chat room for ages
i could setup this, moderate this, and you could have a javaapplet on the site for non-mirc/bx/xchat users to get on through..

I dunno, silver maybe you should put together a featured poll about the chatroom, outlining the pros and cons of the feature
for example 1.pros:the comuity will become much closer
2.cons:the forum will loose its reugular interest
3.pros:the site will become 1 of the most powerful
hardcore/music website in the world.
4.consthe waffeling in the chatroom will become over welming
hmmm..its our choice???

i dont think ppl will lose interest in the forums. Some things belong in the forums and some in the chatroom. the chatroom could be a good place for newbies to start and learn the ways of the forums.
and
let the waffling take place in the chatroom, as long it is reduced in the forums, then yeh, its a good idea.
personally, im not really fussed if theres a chatroom or not. If its there ill pop in and have a look around, if its not there im certainly not gonna cry about it
