Well if u can't afford to buy decks maybe u can afford just one? Buy a decent turntable and use it rip your vinyl. Record it and burn on to cd.
Thats what I do with my vinyl, especially my older stuff. That way i can play it as much as i want and not worry about wearing it down. Just keep my vinyl for special events.
This is perfectly legal so long as u keep the copies for your own personal use only.

Thats an excellent point, I'll try that - just the time factor (and buying the turntable and the vinyl....)
Thanx

CD's aren't only for people who don't DJ. There are a lot of high quality CD decks out there at a very reasonable price, and have the added advantage of needing but a fraction of the space that your average turntable will occupy. With that in mind, don't you think there's room there for releasing full-length CD singles?
As for piracy, it only takes a couple of minutes more to encode a record than it does to rip a track off CD, and once you get to that point the result is the same. Do you think for a minute that there aren't full tracks ripped off vinyl floating around the various p2p networks? Sure, releasing affordable CD singles won't stop that trade, but at least it'll draw away some (a lot?) of the demand (and a corresponding amount of cash-flow) back into the legitimate market.
