Threw together a mix of some of my favourite Makina tracks from the late 90s (give or take a couple of years. It's bouncy & pretty cheesy but all good fun in my opinion. Download available to House-mixes.com members but if anyone else wants to download, just let me know. Tracklist below:
Colors - Fantasy
Sistema 3 - To The House Beat
Hyper-Active - Guitar Active
Virthu-all - Rainbow (Up Mix)
Le Marrant - Voulez-Vous Rendez-Vous
2 Worlds - The Fusion
Dani Fiesta - Definitiva
Toni Phobia & DJ Charles - High Pumping
Juan Cruz - Harmonycs
Pont Aeri Vol.4 - Flying Free

I got hooked to Makina with the 90's styled, especially through the Pont Aeri tracks (Flying Free in particular). But nowadays I am utterly bored by them, even more than Happy Hardcore :(
(it also has nothing to do with me being unable to mix them at all, yes not at all :P)

How does it differ from Hardcore? Or any other genre.

Yeah, I can see your point Samination. Makina is pretty primitive in a sense and there's more poor tracks than good ones in my opinion. At the same time though, I love the bouncy, uplifting sound of the better tracks out there!

If you've heard my mixes, you'd actually know why I can't mix older Makina (or even Trance for that matter).
