Has anyone bought any books on DJing? I've seen some in HMV but don't want to spend £15-£20 on them incase they're cack. Are they any good?

i bought "last night a dj saved my life"
it goes thru the history of dj'ing starting from the advent of radio to today, with large chapters on reggae, disco, house, and hip hop..
i liked it alot :)

That's one of the books I saw in the shop, another was "How to DJ (Properlly)" which apparently goes through DJ history and gives tips on techniques.

they're probably useful and will help but alot of ppl and i never needed books to learn how to mix

i didn't buy it to learn HOW to mix.. i bought it cuz it looked like an interesting read..

Well I can beat match but I can't scratch to save my life! I just want to have a read incase it details anything else I may wanna try, like those effects pads (Kaos pads or something I heard).
