Last night two things happend.
A) it was the first time Ive spun any type of dance type music (well outside of my apartment that wasnt hip hop or 80s so my mixing had to be on.)
B) it was the first time these people have heard HHC.
So here was the line up at the party.
Hip hop DJ went up. That didnt go over well.
I went up and went onto some trance and hard dance and people enjoyed it. Not a huge amount of dancing but people enjoyed. So then it was later. Just felt like having fun so I just let the Hard Dance track play itself out and then pulled out my HHC crate. (p.s. I was having a off night all around since my mixing I felt was total poo).
I forgot what I played first but then I put on silk cuts 1 (born slippy) and people really got into that. So then I went into dont speak remix and when the chorus hit then everyone just exploded. It was cool :) People started pulling out some jump ropes and a accordian (dont ask heh). I went on for abit more and I had to play Konomama for the asia-philes and Japanese who were there. At some point I played Toytown and Shooting Star because it would be new to them and I felt like hearing them. So over all I felt I was doing really crappy that night but people enjoyed themselves. So I guess I wont be giving up this DJ thing. Heh.
DJ still without a name (Maybe because of one of my brit bossess Ill take up the name DJ CheeseMerchant or Chocolate Teapot for spinning HHC). Heh.

Just hope they weren't so wasted they didn't know if you were playing hhc or pop .

Wow, an Estonian happy hardcore fan! Cheers mate, keep the hope. Maybe someday Estonia will have a great hardcore scene.

the scene around here seems to frown on HHC, but yet there's always hardcore parties. Its like everyone pretends to hate it then show up and dance their @$$ off. I dunno the scene here is weird in general... for example, a zillion people who love booty, but no booty parties.
*sighs and dreams of a booty party*
ah well... there's still good parties, i'm not gunna complain.

reminds me of my first gig totally alone. i was at a mate's 16th b-day party and all the crowd there wanted was garage (nightmare!) but i managed to drop a few hardcore tunes in before the place got busted for drugs. it went from ppl standing about on the dancefloor while garage was playing, to everyone cheering and dancing to heart of gold, to all the couples snogging away on the floor when see me climb came on.
