Thats how the rave scene started. Without pills there wouldn't have been a rave scene.

^^ true, if you replace "pills" with "drugs" - I believe acid played more of a role in the formative years of dance music than pills of any kind.

But back to the original question, I think that hardcore goes well with MDMA (which is what I assume is meant by "pills") because at the same time that its uplifting-ness is complemented by MDMA's 'lovey' effects, its energy is also perfectly fuelled by the drug's considerable stimulant aspect ... not to mention that very useful bronchiodilator effect of the amphetamine family that allows asthmatics like myself to jump up-and-down like a friggin' idiot to hardcore for 6hrs where they would otherwise struggle to make 30mins.

Like it or not, Xtc has been around, is still around and will always be apart of the hardcore scene..

Think about this..
Q:How do hardcore dj/producers get to show off their stuff?
A:At Raves, Which in all case's involves a shit load of Xtc.

a comedian named bill hicks once said,

"If you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a
favor, go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes all
your CDs and burn 'em, 'cause you know what? The musicians who made
all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years
were reeaal ****in' high on drugs."

rest in peace, bill hicks!

now don't get me wrong, i'm a dj, i spin the bangin hhc, i love parties, and love happy hardcore even more. But when i used to do drugs at parties, i couldn't bring myself to go into the hardcore room cuz it was way too much for me, when i was sober i enjoyed it much much more, while the franticness of hhc and the uplifting spirit of it puts me on a whole other level without the drugs, while on them it wasn't the same, and i didnt get a good vibe. I've been drug free for two years now, and i have a greater love for the music because i've grown to understand it and understand the effects of it on others, so even though i'm sober and others may be mashed, i can blow their minds, while they blow mine with their amazing spirit and love!!!!

sounds cheesey, but thats the way i feel about it, and i'm sure that other happy hardcore dj's feel the same.

Hella Respect to the 'ardcore Massive Inside The Place!!!

One of the legitimate uses of methamphetamine (before people realised its other potential uses ) related to the fact that it's a very powerful bronchiodilator (ie. it opens up your airways), just like its precursor compound, pseudoephedrine (otherwise known as Sudafed). It's actually a trait shared amongst most of the amphetamine family of drugs, including n-methylene-3,4-dioxylmethamphetamine (MDMA for short).

It is true that most music wouldnt exist if there were no drugs. Its just down to personal preference and whatever floats your boat!?

Personally I don't bother but I respect those that do because thats what they like.

I won't slate someone for doing em because that is wrong, thats not being a raver LOL again this is all opinion but hey!

I think whizz is better, don't like pills, I get dis-orinated, together is good though. Also Strych you are totally right when it started acid was the thing. Cheaper, longer lasting, funny and scarey (sometimes) easy to dance on and a total experience
