Well heres the deal, up here in Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota theres little or no hardcore. We've got Spree and Tilz yes, but compare Hardcore events to lets say drum n bass events and theres a big slant on the scale. I asked kids "whats the ****ing deal!!??" and they usually reply that "I cant dance to Hardcore" or "Theres no good Hardcore DJ's" which I'm sure they were thinking about djs in the mid west (because there certainly is a lack of Hardcore djs up hyuh)

But what do ya'll think........I don't know about everyone else but i can dance just fine to hardcore beats (well not really dance, but i bounce and get all sweaty, but i enjoy it and thats all that matters)does anyone else in the midwest us see a lack in hardcore djs??????

Us poor hardcore deprived yanks

I live in the deep south so I'm just below the midwest and let me tell you, you guys have it lucky compared to us. I know you think your hardcore scene is lacking, but nobody here even knows anything about it. There's maybe 3 or 4 of us that really follow it, and less then half a dozen DJs that used to spin hardcore back in the day, but now spin jungle or hardhouse.

P.S. Flippy always gets excited when he gets to play in Minneapolis or St. Paul because it's way better then spinning in Austin where he gets little support.

that's because you don't dance to hardcore, you go mental to it =P

there isn't a lack of djs in the midwest, we're just spread out amongst the states. i know of several in indiana, ohio, and illinois. and if they are too lazy to travel that's there own damn fault =P

hardcore isn't as commercial as all the other electronic music so you have to search a lil more for it. and on a rare occasion, you'll get an all hardcore event....

I know of at least one person up in Minnesota who spins hardcore, among other things, but I couldn't make it to the party he was just at. But I know that there is nothing here in Nebraska. If you hear of anything, let me know?

want to have mad hardcore antics????? then hop in your car, get on a train, fly on a plane, or even hitch hike to the great mecca of happy hardcore....the pacific coast!!!!! i live in washington, where there is a scene. pacific coast hhc is where it's at. tight people, tight dj's, drug free parties...thats the way it rolls up here in washington...

move away from where you live if it sucks that bad.

yeah, we have a big gabber scene... but no one knows about happy core. Thing is, you have to do something about it then. We're working on getting some events together for the summer. If things work out well, by the end of the summer, most people in Brussels will know about it. Now... will they like it??? difficult to say. But at least we're doing something about it

just call it uk hardcore and not happy hardcore and you'll get booked, i've played a few bars that way, imagine the look on everyones faces when this tall white kid gets behind the decks at a hip hop club and drops "what is a beat" after snoopdogg.

people automaticly hate happy hardcore even if they have never heard it, i think the human mind is trained to, so go light at first then drop the bangin sh!t, maybe start out with some dnb then go full on choonage with the hhc, or get an mc to hype you up so people cant run away so fast, nothing beats a loud hhc mc making fun of the first person to go out the door to make everyone else want to stay to avoid humiliation!!!

down here in brisbane australia, we used to have a hardcore room at every rave then the 2 main promoters just said bugger off....so no more hardcore, but that is changeing now new kid on the block bringing down some big names so i just hope he keeps goin....
i think it has a lot to do with the area too brisbane here the majoity of ppls are into hard house NRG etc, however down in sydney (900km away) it is very much a more hardcore style of music....cant explain it really...spose some ppls just dont have good taste like us:P

Hardcore is lacking everywhere in the U.S. (except the West Coast). I'm from Upstate New York and the only events that go on around here play DnB, Breaks (YAWN), and 2-step. I've heard that there is an MC in Rochester, NY that goes by the name of MC Jumper. Does anybody know if he puts on Hardcore events in the upstate region?
