There's actually a bit of contention over this. Some people think it's:
When we were young we were taugh to believe that everyone was created equal in the Masterplan.
Personally, I think it's:
Growing up we were taught to believe that everyone was created equal in the Masterplan.

I've had numerous debates/arguments with many, many people (including toxic, a couple of DJ's, and my gf) over whether it was "growing up" or "when we were young" (I personally believe it's the former). We've even taken the record out time and again and slowed it right down, to no avail; both sides stick to their own version: I think the vowel sound very much indicates the word "growing", but everyone else swears that there's an extra syllable in there that hasn't been accounted for.
It had to be done.

Yep, what Strychnine said!
I think it's the music/sounds in the background and the effects on the vocals that make it a lot harder to make out than it should be

Incidentally, when I play my Hardcore Cheddar CD on my PC the tracklisting is for a Bob Marley album!!
