I'm telling you, It would be cool 4 a while, but afterworse the exclusivity would be totaly destroyed. It happened to (happy) hardcore around here (Belgium and holland) and afterworse the scene was totaly occupied by faking wannabee's and the trax got a little cheesy as well as more and more "amature" producers started to release trax.
I'm warning you, DON'T DO IT! Think of the long term effect and don't make me go through another hardcore devestation again.

In Holland there were a lot of HHC tracks in the charts in about 1995, may I name: Charlie Lownoise and Mental Theo, DJ Paul Elstak, Dune. All the good oldfashioned HHC.
Nowadays hardhouse is a hype.

I for sure hope that Hardcore doesn't go commercial out here in the states. I think the scene will be full of kids who listen to pop music. : O Oh yea...Disney already used "Follow The Sun" for one of their commercials for a show. Damn, Disney...just a bunch of copy cats and thieves.

What are you talking about? Disney would have paid ALOT of money to the artists and copyright holders to play that track on TV. You can't say that hardcore has not copied tracks either...

Well DJ Frankus, it definitely does :)
Frankus Hoekzema, that even sounds Dutch.
Maybe you haven't noticed, but there lots and lots of hardhouse partys all over the country. And that is definetly not the Underground.

It's spelt with a "J".
Oh, and you forgot to mention all the hardcore tracks that charted and/or got some serious airplay on Sydney stations back in the mid-late 90's, like "Forever Young", "1, 2, 3, 4", "Tic Toc", "Here's Johnny", "I Can't Stop Raving" etc etc. Even "Shooting Star" got a lot of airplay but never charted cuz we couldn't buy it on CD.
Personally, I've got my feet firmly planted in the "If you like it then listen to it, who gives a flying f*** who else listens" camp.

I agree with you, Silver, there is a bunch of copying goin' on when it comes to Hardcore. But to say if Disney ever paid up for using Follow The Sun is unknown. All I know is what I saw and heard ON the Disney channel. And sure enough it was Triple J's version of the song. I have this thing against Disney becuase of how they ripped off Lion King from an anime called "Kimba the White Lion"...but, whatever....

the fact that there was no music video would have also hindered it's chances

I've never seen a hardcore track in the charts, but it couldn't do any harm... Hardcore is totally unknown in Canberra atleast, and being able to go to a rave here rather than having to travel to Sydney would be nice once in a while...

All music played anywhere someone is paying for, this includes radio and TV. I can guarantee Disney paid the copyright holders.
Second point: Hardcore has copied so many other things as virus will also agree :) I don't think it unfair for them to copy us now, promotes hardcore doesn't it.

You KNOW they have the money for that.. ;)
It stull makes me shudder when I remember that commercial... I swaer they only chose that song because it was on DDR. It's the EXACT same version as on DDR. The 90's in the Shade Remix. I bet you that.
