Actually, I'm not so sure how well they do digitally. I'd imagine a fair few will buy them digitally but there are always way more people pirating the releases than buying them. I think Western Doujin fans see piracy in a totally different light to general UK Hardcore fans, since the latter tend to be more against it from what I've seen. I still think it wouldn't really have a bad affect on the circles to release their stuff digitally though, so maybe the ones that don't release digitally just prefer an album being complete and a physical product, also because the art direction plays a big part of the product. I also happen to see it like that so I tend not to get as much digital stuff or buy a few tunes from a CD because I like it to be a "complete" thing. :P
Regarding other stuff you mentioned in this thread, I don't really think the costs of importing it are really that outrageous at all. If for example I buy 9 CDs from diverse.direct it probably works out as ?8-9 per CD including shipping, the same as anything released here really. It's probably more that it isn't worth it for you because you don't enjoy enough of it, which I guess is fair enough.
For Japanese people, buying a single HU/ReBuild/Stamina/whatever CD is probably a similar experience to importing a single J-Core CD here cost-wise. I can imagine some people being annoyed that they can't get these digitally if they only like a few tracks.
Also, if you're going to Japan and want to look for CDs you want to either go to Shibuya for GUHROOVY (which is also where j-core.biz is based) or Akihabara which has Toranoana, TOWER RECORDS etc., it's basically a CD paradise. :P

Thank you for sharing this stuff so much!! I was always a fan of Super Eurobeat, but I always wished they would take the vocalists off the songs and sometimes have harder hitting drums. THIS STUFF IS GREAT! Anybody aware of any CD compilations with stuff like this? I would love

Honestly finding good J-core is hard. After seeing this thread and some other things I was all ready to go buy a bunch of stuff on diverse direct. Then I starting looking at various albums and found that, as someone said earlier, there might be a few good tracks on an album and the rest is junk. Even a lot of the good stuff is just average for me. I was excited to finally start buying some J-core and finally had money available for it, but I found that my music fund is better spent elsewhere.
Despite how negative the above must sound, I did finally buy a bunch of albums that I do like.
1. J-Neration 2
2. J-Neration 3
3. Diamond Smile
4. Happynation 3
5. Alter:Answers
6. You:ReTracks
7. Planet//Shaper (not J-core)
8. Borderline named the fate (stumbled upon this one by chance, excellent album!)
9. Happymaker Vivid

Can't say I am a fan at all. Why? Sounds very dated to me like from 2002. But even back then the UK sounded way ahead. Have no idea what they are saying either. The lyrics are way too pitched up and some of the tracks are ridiculous beyond belief and at 200bpm. And I think Anime is for toddlers.. If our Hardcore scene went like that, people would lose all respect for it in this day and age. You might even get bottles thrown at you if you played it in some not so pleasant parts. Give me what we are doing anyday over what Japan is producing. M Project is brilliant though. He is giving Japanese Hardcore some serious good credibility unlike these muppits. Maybe they should get some lessons off him. But each to their own.

Funny you say that... Alot of the sound I heard from UK Hardcore a few years ago was carbon copy of what some japanese artists made some years earlier. Minamotoya, kors k, dj noriken. check out their work and you might find how much gammer had copied from them (before he went the EDM route)

This is exactly why favour the Japanese scene, because it's not just limited to hardcore and people don't care about sounding "outdated" as long as it's good music. I'm also really not sure how you can listen to that clip of DJ Noriken's "Starlit Sky" remix and say it sounds like 2002 when the sound design is an exact copy of what's been done in the UK recently. That's honestly why I stopped caring about Noriken (as well as a few other big JP names) in the last couple of years.
Fair enough if you aren't a fan of pitched-up vocals but a lot of it isn't really like that. If DJ Shimamura can play at a HU event then I'm pretty sure it'd be fine to play *certain* anime song remixes because they don't all have girls with high voices chanting over them. A lot of it is just Japanese singing. By the way, you'd be eating your words about M-Project if you listen to any of the J-CORE MASTERZ compilation CDs, because this "muppet" sound is definitely something he advocates. :P
Also, "I think Anime is for toddlers". Haha, good one. I don't really watch a lot of it but I can tell you that proper anime is probably a bit too mature for little children...
