i mean, don't get me wrong. i think it was a pretty cool idea to make a mashup like that with those 2 tracks because it sounds pretty tight. i just think that the mashup just takes away the greatness of each individual track. sort of like mixing up 2 of your favorite foods that are both quite tastey when you eat them by themselves, but if you mix them up it kinda tastes weird.

pacman,
i agree somewhat, i dont mind there being alot of remixes of songs, but then agian if there were 30 remixes of Your Shining i would stop liking hardcore because it would be the same song over and over.

i was never too keen on futureset to start off with. the thing is, there's heaps of tunes we could mash together (instrumental/vocals) but why do it when neither is better than the other. you're shining already had 2 top mixes! i wouldn't mind so much if they changed the tunes alot, but it's really pretty much the same just with two different elements.

Future set has never been a favorite choon of mine; I bought the LP and I play it occasionally but I feel it has WAY too many quiet moments and not enough energy. That's just my feeling. I don't know why, actually. Everyone else has always seemed to get a bit of a kick out of it. And I especially dislike the hixxy remix... which everyone kept on raving about (no pun intended.)
In fact, I'm starting to hate all hixxy remixes. THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME. They all start with that goddamn choppy vocal sample and annoying kick drum... hixxy's losing it IMO. But that's off topic. The point is I never liked future set and future set + you're shining is really you're shining - its identity, to me.
Er, scratch all that. I'll be the fifth too agree - make it simple ;)

Im glad someody agrees with me on the irritating kick drum. Seems to that it wastes a lot of hixxy tunes that could be good. Also agree bout the fact that Future set has too many quiet moments in it. I have it and dont really play it a lot to be honest. The hixxy mix isnt very nice imo and he does seem to have a bit of an irritating voice sample at the start of all his new tracks. Bit like Time and Feel it in the air which where allmost really goos tunes.

I Think all 3 of em are alright, i think it gives breeze an excuse to play futureset again without having to add another tune to his already hecttechly scheduled sets ;)

its a good idea that i reckon breeze an styles stumbled across by accident or something. fair play, experiments rule, an the tune is pretty good. itd be a waste if they put it on vinyl tho, as the number of good RB choons that need releasing is getting rather silly

What people are forgetting is that both Future set and Your Shining are historical tracks in thier own right. Future set paved the way for the new 'Trancey' sounds that make harcore what is is today. That sound was the begining of the new sound of Happy Hardcore and led to its massive return.
Your shining was launched at the Slammin vinyl event April last year. An event which had "HARDCORE'S BACK" Written all over it, with most of the DJ's launching new sets n tunes. It was the most sucessfull tune of the night and in fact the year. Nothing had ever come close to the popularity of this tune since 'SHOOTING STAR' back in '96/97.
So, what better 2 tracks to mix together!! The sounds of the future set section improved immensly and the real fusion of the two tracks leading to the second breakdown is surely amazing!!
