OK, its all your fault for getting me started on this!!
88-89 was the start of the Acid House scene and out of that came a ton of wharehouse parties (illegal) at those parties were the like of Stu Allan, Ratpack, Slipmatt, Carl Cox, Sy, Seduction etc etc from this came the rave scene and bands such as Altern8 and Prodigy were formed (note a lot of early Prod is cartoony and happy) In this Urban Hype released Trip to trumpton, Smat'ees did Sesame Street and just about every kids show like Magic Roundabout had its own rave tune, some of us, like me loved it but part of the rave scene thought it was to cheesy, kiddy and getting to poular charty, so around 91-92 Darkness(Champion sound) and Jungle (supersharpshooter) in their real forms were created and the piano tracks feel of the map, there were was a lot of attitude around, bad boys and ruffnecks forgetting the happy vibe and all trying to show how hard they were,(note garage now!!) , A lot of people got into House, the Jungle scen grew and developed at a tremendous rate into an ethic sound of its own and firstly dominanted then left the hardcore scene entirely taking a lot of darkness with it, all the while techno sort of bobbed along diving in and out of genres, sometimes on its own sometimes not. This is when Mixmag and others started on us saying hardcore and rave were dead. They were wrong. In 93-96 the Happyhardcore scene exploded again, much to my joy, thanks to Sy,Hixxy,Sharkey,Dougal,Vibes,Seduction, Brisk etc etc again, The piano was back with a vengance so was the happy vibe, If people wanted Jungle or House there were now seperate nights (sad in a way) So the happy crew could now feel happy without the guilt of being told they were babies because they liked wearin hats, white gloves and whistles, around 98 things went a bit quieter and with the development of Hard Techno sounds developing truely into Gabba and Breakbeats and Big Beat kicking in (Thank FATBOYSLIM 8-()
However unlike before it did not disappear quite so badly as old and new ravers still liked the techno bounce but wanted a bit of the old skool 4-4 beats back. Now a few hardcore djs looked in a different direction, not hixxy and brisk, how could the scene evolve once more? They had been shown the way by the likes of Billy Bunter and Ramos and Marley a few years before (and way ahead of their time!!) Trancecore style hardcore, Rippin the other scenes back for the years of abuse we had suffered as they destroyed the rave scene and split it all in genres, Hardcore took the trance and baleric sounds of Ibiza speed them up, improved them and gave to the rise of what some would term UK Hardcore. This I would say brings us up to the present day 8-)
Unlike other scenes hardcore can never be totally deffined; Any time it wants to it can steal from any genre of music, virtually, and still it will be hardcore. It is the only genre that has no hard or fasrt rules to it, that is why it can and will never die, it will suffer at times cos of things like Flip and Fill and Scoota (to a certain extent) but any time that happens that style burns out but the Underground never does, thus Hardcore re-invents itself while still staying truley hardcore. In relation to the first ever REAL Happy hardcore tune, I would agree with Silver probably Trip to Trumpton as it is the most famous and has all the key components (piano, techno, fairground type sounds) However I would say at the time it was only recognised as a rave tune, as only a few had and were using the term happy hardcore, cos until the darkness and jungle thing we had never needed to deffine what it was we liked as it had always been in as part of the eclectic rave thing, once it faded for a while some of us needed a name and so the title HAPPY Hardcore was born. Something like a person in 92 trying to explain to me the difference between the garage vibe that lived inside the House scene (It's a feelin mate)
Well now all of us know the difference between the two and i doupt many would even called them similar but that's where garage was spawned, to some degree it was the other ravers that left the old skool scene and got into house and then tried to remove ONCE AGAIN!!! essentially what the scene was.
Anyhow like I said you did get me started, sorry I am getting old (OBVIOUSLY!!) I have began ranting already, I HOPE someone reads this, that would be truely hardcore forever!!!

Within the trance you have some vocal parts.. you call these songs vocal trance.. but some happy hardcore songs have vocal parts and some does not.. but are these both happy hardcore or is there another name for?

Ok I will try and keep this one brief, 8-)
Vocal trance is relatively new in its own right, though some trance has had vocals on it in years past not the volume we are seeing now due to the popularity it is going through, some credit or dissapproval goes to F&F for this one. If its beat is as fast as hardcore or has breakbeat, then I would consider it a variation of hardcore or trancecore, if not then it stays firmly in the trance genre irrespective of vocals or not (note D&B which can have vocals and piano but is not hardcore) I think primarily its down to aggression and energy in this one its a fine line between some trance to hardcore and hardcore to gabba. Everyone one knows Gabba ain't trance but once again hardcore in many instances can accomadate elements of both.

after the acid house days sorta like 88-90/1 there came the breakbeat sound which all the djs used to play from slipmatt right through to grooverider and fabio but people like clarkee and the producer were still pushing the acid house thats kinda where the gabba sound came from. In 93 slipmatt released the SMD tracks which kinda spliut the scene up into what then formed hardcore and jungle. So i guess you could say slipmatt was the real pioneer of the happy sound because people like sy and seduction went on to produce similar music. i started djing in 94 which was when the happy side of things really began to change

Yep I would agree with that, slipmatt was a huge influence on both scenes but so was Simon 'Bassline' Smith, his Bro Donnavan,Stu Allan and Ellis Dee.
In a way its kinda easier to answer who started gabba cos although Producer, Muisc Maker and tanith were doin it Clarkee was always way ahead.
