as for Hardhouse - I can barely think of more than 5 great tunes. most tunes have this annoying repetitive sound to them and only seem to sample old 'House' tracks. as i've said before HardHouse is more about making 'House' music seem 'Hard' -edged - which is actually what a lot of Hardstyle is all about too. Plus add in the Acid and take away the 'trancey' sounds and bingo! a recipe for another dreary Hard House track. How you can listen to this music for too long is really a mystery to me.

There's just no comparison to Happy Hard music . kudos to Japan for creating more J-Core inspired Happy Hardcore! Give me more J-core HHC for 2017!

he 'UK Hardcore' I am talking about is post 2000 although mainly post 2004ish.

Early 2000s Hardcore and Hard House where on par to each other. Of course there are some more minimal and repetitive Hard House tunes, every genre has them. There are even classic Hardcore tunes that most people like that I am a bit 'meh' over but I feel that some Hard House is a bit over looked in some circles. There where big anthems and some recent stuff I have found is actually very edgy.

UK Hardcore started focusing on too much vocals and cheese but with less of the bounce that Happy Hardcore had. Hard House seemed to ignore all of that and was a some what more matured style. Not saying that wasn't mature Hardcore because there was but in the end the mainstream Hardcore was becoming over played and over produced while Hard House went down a different route

I found stuff by Jon Doe that sounds pretty HardHouse-influenced 'Hardcore'.

But then again, the style known as UK Hardcore keeps being 're-invented' by different people too many times, it's getting a bit confusing.

think Jon Doe had dabbled in Hard House and so there was some cross over. I have heard some of Brisk (and Ham's) Stimulant DJs tunes to be very much like Brisk's Hardcore tunes of the same era.

Even Sy and Unknown made Hard House but it seems they don't want anyone to know that. But they are credited on some 'Kris and Sy' tunes on Deca Dance's 'The Ultimate Hard House' album from 2004. That same album also has Slipmatt's Space on it.

Yeah I bought a couple of them Kris & Sy tracks on vinyl on Frisky records, I think I must have saw the names and expected something else. I think Vinyltrixta had some bits on there too. They were crap to be honest.

I forgot what the Kris and Sy tracks sounded like now. One give away was a small bit of 'scratching' as a hint that Sy was behind it.

Interestingly on Discogs Kris and Sy and not linked with Sy and Unknown indicating that they tried to hid their short lived Hard House phase

The most obvious hint is the fact that 'Sy' is the artist ;)

I don't suppose they are trying to hide it.... lol

From Discogs.
"Profile: Mostly Uk Hard House, and house
Parent Label: Quosh Records
Contact Info: frisky records "

The label itself is. And if you click on "Kris & Sy", and look at aliases, their hardcore ones are included. Inluding Sy & Unknown.

Interesting the last time I checked a few years ago I am convinced that they where not linked then.

Does Discogs get updated regularly?

Each page gets updated when someone updates it. Some will get updated regularly, some may never get touched.
