What was your favourite year of hardcore? It could be because of fond memories or the style of music.
My favourite year was 1996 because that was the year when i went to my first Helter Skelter (Discovery 96') and it ws amazing! Vibes set blew my head off!. (Lost the tape pack so i have to order again)
1996

Don't think I can honestly pin it down to one particular year.
Yes, '96 will always the year that Hardcore took off and give most people their best memories but I also think that '97 and even '98 (to a lesser extent) were just as important and the tunes were just as good.
If this topic had started later in the year, I would probably have made a case for this year being my favourite but there haven't been enough really big tunes yet although I do think that 2003 will be remembered as a very important year in the history of hardcore music.
So to answer your question - I'm not sure really!!
'92? You're so right Virus mate!
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you

95' was my favourite by far.
The music was better before they fazed the breakbeat element out of it in my opinion, each tune had its own uniquness about it.
I think 96' started fine but the music lost its hard edge from there and relied too much on vocals - by 97' I stopped listening to it.
The music Billy Bunter, Sharkey, Mark EG and M-Zone were playing was nice though and i heard some great sets from them at Helter Skelter.

the rolling crazy breakbeats in the early tunes showed so much EFFORT.. and it made the music so more crazy and fun..much more then just throwing a 4/4 kick

2001 and onwards. It's the variety, I guess. Breaks, trance, house, cheese ... whatever you're after, there's bound to be some corner of the hardcore castle that'll float your boat.

word on the breakbeat call peeps.
i mean take for example jimmy j and cru l t - wanna be forever. to me that track is what happy hardcore is about...simple melody, brings in the 4/4 kick, brings in the hats, then 1beat pause...and bring in the breaks!!! - it just makes your roll with the kick and breaks, not a better combo of drums in ANY style of music IMO!
its nice to see whats coming out on KFA and what ham is doing over @ next generation - more freaking breaks yo!
RE the topic im going to have to say, 92' to 97' i cant just have one year! too many good trakcs!

yep, 96 was a great year for hardcore but I also agree with djDMS when saying that 2003 will be a year to remember as i think the tunes being released currently are seriously banging
HARDCORE FOREVER
if video games affected us as children, then we would all be running around in dark rooms, munching magical pills and dancing to repetitive music!

94 for me, That's when most of the talent came out and the year where most of the real hardcore/happy hardcore producers stabelised themselves to still be alive today to produce us goood quality music. Remember if u don't have a base for something u r ****ed and well only a handful of happy hardcore/hardcore producers showed us that they had a base because there still alive today, it's just a shame some of the one hit wonders were in it for the money, hence charly lownoise and mental theo or RMB.
