Happy Hardcore is mostly all there was in my opinion back in the days of tape decks. Now there they have split in to more significant groups, Gabba, Evil/Dark Hardcore and Happy Hardcore. The whole genre is now Hardcore, instead of Happy Hardcore.

Before all u people start flaming me ,NO im not bitching moaning or nething .
to the people who say that the stuff that is coming out now adays is happy hardcore ,is it fair to say it is happy? fair does some of it is ,maybe a couple of songs now and again and yes i prefer older stuff and NG & BB is great music and to all the people that bitch(im not going to say dont listen to hardcore if you dont like it)then just listen to the new stuff and adapt to it ,when i first got bonkers x i thought it was crap then i thought it was quality music ,now im bored ,so instead of saying "if you dont like it then f#ck off!!" just listen to it and start to like it!(did i even make my point there ,i amnt to good at making points :()

Part of the problem lies with the fact that nowadays more ppl are making hardcore tracks. Since the come about of fancy computers, everyone reckons themself a producer. This then causes a wider range of hardcore music (or any music for that matter) to be available. Everyone wants to make their style, THE style.
There are more DJ's about too, which means more tracks are needed for them to play, covering a wider range.
Back in the day things were different, no internet forums to chat about stuff, no fruityloops to play with. Most ppl who raved in the early 90's feel that todays music is so different and maybe not as good, but as you say, music does evolve.
All those who think that the new style of hardcore (whatever flavour you prefer) will be the one, better wait and see what happens in another ten years. You might find that you buy 1000 records that you love, only to find that they become defunked and you don't like the stuff around now anymore. I bet the 'new to hardcore' ppl then will say the same as you now.
Shouldn't forget where hardcore came from, and who the pioneers really were. As someone said, all styles should be appreciated as ppl have spent time (4 hours or 40) and cash bringing the music to you.
I wouldn't say that saying quote:
"happy hardcore isnt happy enuff "
or "harcore isnt the same as it used 2 b"
or "everythings 2 trancey"
is slating hardcore. It's either an observation, opinion or fact. Slating hardcore and dance is when someone says "Oh that hardcore shit gives me a headache, put on some Britney."

Every1 can remember when they first got hooked on music, and whatever style or kind it was, Thats what you will prefer to listen too.
Our parents still listen to music from the, 60's, 70's, 80's, depending on how old they are. Because that was what music was around when they got into music.
When we are all alot older and have kids, and a whole new breed of music has been created, our kids will say that the music we listen to is rubish.
So to the point, Music is always changing and there is more than enough styles out there to suit every1, and you don't have to look far to find it.
So just listen to what music you want to listen to, and f**k those who don't,
