Everyone on this board tosses the term Gabba (or Gabber, whatever) around when referring to mixes (esp Scott Browns). How do you really define Gabba? And while I'm on it, I bought Scotts Brown's Happy Hardcore (bright and yellow - Hixy did a pink one). How do you define the obvious differences between the 1st and 2nd cd's? They're both strictly HHC, but totally different styles... help me with my pathetic vocabulary!

i don't listen to it
but its really hard and dark kinda hardcore
equivalent to heavy metal grundgy type music wit screaming and stuff but for dance/hard core or whateva u wanna call it

really fast stuff lol....check out promo rob gee and a lot of holland djs for gabber

its not always fast

and gabber to us, its Hardcore to the dutch

usualy scott browns/neophytes etc gabber is around 160-170 bpm (with a LOT beinng made at 160,)

however faster stuff is also gabber, but is usualy refferd to as hardcore techno

you cant define it, its like trying to define hardcore, however, it ALWAYS has a distorted evil kick :D

GABBER is wicked!!!!!

Seriously absolute bo'ness nice and dark scares some of the sissys off with its evil samples and dark beats and sounds its good to work with as an mc as well cos ya can take the piss out of the crowd on it lol

Gabber is not always evil and stuff, but you get a darker feel to it. It can be Gabber and happy too.
Just listen to a few gabber and later when you here a song, you can say, it has some gabber style in it and stuff.

I was actually waiting for some FOOL to say it was a new thing, it was in holland around 1993 and it's got harder throught the years, gabber BPM is from like 150 to 250, Nu-style-Gabber is in 4/4 (quite slow some say) and uses tripplets to get its marching feel

the TR-909 is used alot in the classics

I still don't see what we said was wrong, nobody said it was a new thing, someone said it is from 160 -170BPM, thats not wrong and said also that faster is also gabber. And gabber(=hardcore) is the tits, its also the bomb and some tunes have actually bombs in it. (heheheh bombs, lol)
