Does anyone agree with me that Hixxy's Raver Baby label isn't quite HAPPY hardcore. Don't get me wrong - Raver Baby #1 and Raver Baby #2 are both absolutely wicked; it's just that I think they carry a distinctive Btrax flavour. In my opinion, the trancy element seems to have been carried over to Raver Baby releases. The talented Elaine continues to sing the vocals too.

Incidentally, I think that Hixxy's laid-to-rest Btrax label was a breath of fresh air for a hardcore scene that was growing a little stale 2 years ago.

Just food for thought......

Edward: I agree raver baby is a little more trancy but that's okay, I would love to see the Epic Trance and hard trance people come over the hardcore scene :)

I can personally say that there are alot of new tracks coming out on different labels that are real bangers and stick to a happy flavor shortly.

I must say Raver Baby hasn't been as good as I was expecting, the Wanting To Get High remix was er saying it politely, not that great. Suppose it's what you're into. It's too trancy for me. Will still buy future releases though, it may get better.

Alex.

yeah, i would consider raver baby along with a lot of the other stuff coming out to be more in the category of 'freeform', a newer breed of music that kinda' combines the elements of trancecore, hhc, and nrg. like a lot of what dj energy and breeze produce these days can be considered this. hhc has more of it's roots in breakcore/old skool rave, while freeform is more trancy. it's still some pretty good stuff though :)
