Can anyone tell me why FL dosent give better sound Qualty compard to other programs such as Cubase....?

well, cubase is the professional standard. fruity loops is more of a home user kinda thing.

the distortion is just your pc running low on memory, your cpu isnt fast enuff to cope wit FL

Either that, or you have the volume too loud :P
And you can sort out (to a certain extent) the memory problem by going to 'Audio Options', then changing the buffer rate :)

There's actually a couple of reasons why it could be distorting:
1.) You have the volume up too loud
2.) You've tried to use a compressor and the input is too high
3.) You put a distortion unit (like FastDist) on the master for what ever reason.
But the CPU not being able to cope doesn't produce distortion. It just doesn't produce sound, like it chokes and skips and that.
The most likely reason however that FL doesn't give better sound quailty maybe for various reasons:
1.) You didn't do a good job mastering
2.) The rendering algorithms are way different
3.) The Steinberg-is-not-but-thinks-it-is-the-best-Conspiracy
4.) Steinbery pay more people, more money to work on Cubase than Image-Line does for FL.
5.) Lies, Lies, all Lies!
6.) FL may actually be crap (I'm still debating with Silver on that one)
7.) Um....Insert Reason Promotion here.

if u make your riffs in FL and lay them out in a multi track eg cool edit, surely that improves quality

nah that doesn't because its the qualiy of export that sets fruity loops apart.

I think he mean exporting each "loop"/"pattern" of each channel and then doing a mixdown in cool edit pro....

Sigh...not this ridiculous argument again.
There were a number of tests done on all the programs by a few people to test these rendering and timing problems all these people insist on believing, if i could find the sites i would.
The results were that there is no sound quality difference in fruity from reason or cubase, in short, LEARN TO USE EFFECTS AND MASTER PROPERLY!
And secondly, it was found in the timing test that reason's timing is off by . something of a second whereas fruity and cubase had perfect timing.
I don't know where people get these silly ideas from, if you choose to consider fruity a second rate program then that is your loss and your missing out! Go and buy your £300 software programs that aren't any better than fruity but please leave the put downs out of it!!!

Erm...yeah sorry, i'm just fed up with people overlooking the fact that fruity is a great program and people always bash it.
I'll try and find those sites, think they were mentioned on computermusic forums, i'll try there and edit if i find them.
