i'm curious, does anyone really like the yelling over DJ mixes that are supposed to get you 'pumped up'? an example is the 'Scott Brown - Live at Brain Basher' mix on hh.com radio right now. the music is good, i really like the mix, but i have to turn it off due to the jerk shouting all over the mix "open up your mouth open up open up open up your mouth blah blah blah" and stuff like yelling "awe sh!t hardcore timee" crap. he's not a rapper, and i don't listen to techno or harcore to hear a bunch of toneless shouting. so wtf? does this do anything for anyone? are there people who would not enjoy the good mix w/o having this hack tell you that your supposed to be enjoying yourself every second and giving whatever pops into his empty head equal or higher billing than the music the DJ is playing.

Thats not the DJ talking. Those are MCs.
If I'm listening to a CD, I don't really care for MCing as they take attention away from the music. But MCs like Gobstopper, I love. I don't know why, he's just really good.
But any live sets you get most likely have MCs in it as it's ... live!

It's a live CD, most events have MC's, it's hard to get into an MC without a big crowd...

hmm,silver made the best point about only really loving the mc' alongside a massive crowd thats up for it,but as in the case of mc's there are the ones who'll ya gonna either love or hate,but at big events there are normally pretty good standard..
i.e. live events,and studio recorded mix sets is how i see it...pre

i listen to hardcore all the time and i love listening to sets that have mc's such as whizzkid and storm in them
they make me rush @ work , home , car anywhere
cause u know there up for a good time and are enjoying theirselves

I love GOOD MC's...It does get you pumped (While you're at a event) but while I'm listening to HHC on CD or sets I don't care if it does or not...

i like mcs! well ok...not if they r crap..but then at least they add some comedy value, but at big events i think they r wikid to get the crowd goin, storm rocked at slammin vinyl!

Mixes with mcing in makes the musik sound much better and exciting nothing, sand it does gett ppl hyped up!!!

when i was younger, i didn't like mc's that much, until i went to some events
and now i love them
especiallt storm and whizkid, they create such an amazing atmosphere, and u can really have an event without them

MC's rock, just look at my Signiture! But what annoys me is stopping the music have way through a good song or chorus when its cranking, that the only bad times, an they are few and far between.

MC's should have good lyrics, never speak over singing, and know when to shut up and listen. Hardcore has always had MCs and would be poorer without them (a kind of very fast House) The ruff edges make hardcore what it is. However I do implore everyone on the site, if the hear a good MC, tell them. Also if you hear a bad one tell them too, they need to know they need to get help. Its not nice to tell your mate his good if he's crap.

while it is is kinda funny.. the mc's on the scott brown set made me turn off too. I seriosuly wanted them dead :|
