Yeah innit, because listening to a type of music that was "made" for gays makes you a gay person, dont it son.
what a **** wit.

and i do find it weird that hardcore is predominantly heterosexual! i only know of a few people that are otherwise...

i think if you "dont want to be a gay" then you have very little chance of becoming so.. cause your born either way dude.. so hanging around them or going to raves with them etc will at worst open your mind...
I'd say your mate is just spurting rubbish, and had no idea what hes talking about. He probably overheard "happy hardcore is for gays" and took it literally..
when you go to a proper rave you'll see that he was not only full o shit but that such an issue really doesnt matter in the scheme of things.

Yes mate, we're all gay here. Even all the girls on this board are lesbians :)
Actually, did you know that house music was pretty much started by the gay community? When everyone started hating disco gay men in some areas kept it going in underground clubs where it eventually evolved into house (in Chicago) and garage (in New York). Which then ended up influencing techno, breakbeat hardcore (which turned into jungle and happy hardcore), ect. So as you can see, in a way all this music has been very influenced by the gay community. They weren't the only contributors, but there's a long history between "rave" music and "gays."

god i cant believe we still live in a world when anyone cares bout this sort of thing! if hardcore was started by the gay community- who the **** cares!! its still my favourite music and to be honest with u its the closed mindedness of people like you bj that causes tension at raves! grow up, its not the 1950s anymore.

Alright, if he was 24 I would totally agree with your flamming him, and I agree about closed-minded people being vey, very bad....but c'mon, he's 14. When most of us were 14 we weren't very open-minded. Some of us maybe, but for the most part you still have a lot to learn at the age. He just needs to be schooled in the ways of the force.
So BJ, coming from someone who isn't gay, let me tell you that there's nothing wrong with being gay. Hardcore wasn't actually formed by gay people, but the entire rave scene was heavily influenced by a gay movement (some would argue even directly formed by the gay community). That doesn't make it bad at all, now does it? There's many gay happy hardcore DJs as well as many straight ones, and it's their decision and doesn't have shit to do with the music

Isn't Sharkey (yes, the bonkers one) gay? Maybe it was just mixmag misprinting girlfriend with boyfriend. Anyhow, as long as it stays happy it doesnt bother me in the slightest.
