And what difference would there be if a Liebour government were in power, or a Lib Dem, or any other party ? What would they do so different ?

And I am sick of hearing about Cummings getting smashed just cos he's a tory, he was looking out for his kid, i'd stick 2 fingers up to the rules too if I had to do that, any father would. And anyone who wants to challenge that is a pure and utter c.unt

Yep. I'm with you on this, LeVzi. 100%
Smoogie Only the lefty remainers have issues with Cummings. Their plan was to get him to resign or force Johnson to sack him. That has failed and while Johnson might take a short term popularity hit he will bounce back hard.

I mean who really hates this government when you are on 80% of your wages and get to sit in the sun? The left should love it but they know that they will all have to go back to work soon so feeling rather glum.

As for Starmer, he needs to speak up a bit more. I can barely hear a word he says and not sure if anyone else can either
The drunken scotsman The frustrating thing for me about the Cummings saga is that it is generally irrelevant in the scale of things. As a country we have far greater problems facing us. The discussion should be about how we are going to cope with the economic, social and health impact of Coronavirus in the long run.

People who are raging about this are saying it is one rule for them and another for the Government but these same people have been breaking the rules since they were put in place anyway. One of my mates for example is fiercely anti-Tory and goes on about how we should have locked down earlier and how the UK has one of the highest death rates etc. But I know he was meeting up with mates and looking after his kids over the weekend even during the very early stages of lockdown. People are just hypocrites by nature and hindsight is a wonderful thing.

What really lies at the core of this is political views and many people have pre-conceived views on Dominic Cummings and the government in general. He played a pivotal role in Brexit which is enough to get most opponents foaming at the mouth. Something like this was always going to provoke a massive over-reaction and nothing Cummings or any of his colleagues can say now will make it any better.

With the new Brexit deadlines in June the remainer media are in full panic mode so the idea is to try and get Cummings to quit or force Johnson to fire him but neither has happened. Johnson might take a hit in ratings but he will bounce back. The BBC have really opened themselves up to an investigation now about how they handled this story at a time when most people want to know how we are going to leave lockdown. I want to know when I am going back to work or what shops will be opening but instead the vultures have all been bleeding this story dry.

Worth to note that the Guardian and the Mirror have both told lies in this story and the BBC have been backing it up. Something needs to be done about them
Si Thompson The absolute state of UK media. Get in the bin.

The drunken scotsman Too many journalists trying to make a name for themselves. Im no fan of Hancock but that was out of order.

The second they start charging pensioners for their license, mine is going in a blaze of glory. :)
