"welcome to my world, do you feel alive? it's all a bad dream spinning in your lonely head"
DarrenJ good on him, but dunno if clubs will like it
maybe for partys and such :)

well I, I will, I will hardcore
CriticalTrance actually i think a bit of thesoft rnb has potential, but apart from that i think ya right actually

"welcome to my world, do you feel alive? it's all a bad dream spinning in your lonely head"
DJ Superman fair play to him, doubt it'd go down in clubs - people tend to be very picky in those situations. plus the bpm's will be so out of shot the tunes might start to sound a bit hamsterish. would deff like to hear a mix with some in if it was posted though!

Brian K it's fun to mix other styles into your sets...it's harder to do with hardcore because you have to pitch it really fast or really slow to work it in. works well for intros and stuff though, maybe do a little juggling and what not.

hip hop works well...one of my friends mixed in some beck last saturday when he played =P

Underloop I don't see whats wrong with mixing in RnB tracks into any genre. I have a tendency to drop the odd RnB pella over the top of some breaksy beats and it sounds wikkid...... and before anybody asks, no I don't particularly like RnB as a genre (heres hoping nobody digs out my old UK Garadge remixes *blush*), but over the top of some tough beats it isn't RnB anymore.

As for the whole hamster bit..... RnB Pella at 100bpm, slowed down to 85bpm, layered over 170bpm track =

Please people, take off your blinkers...... theres plenty more to Hardcore than tunes released by Hardcore artists..... I've always thought of hardcore as being a way to throw off the shackles placed upon society by one-eyed people....... I think its time to bring that back into the scene rather than being all elitest about hardcore! Its not about having a 4/4 kick at 168bpm with stabby synths and the such.... ITS ALL ABOUT THE VIBE!!!!!!!!

OK, rant over

Matthew aka DJ Underloop
CriticalTrance hmm yeh hip hop could really work i reckin

"welcome to my world, do you feel alive? it's all a bad dream spinning in your lonely head"
CriticalTrance ok well its like it still has the phat bass and mad beats and shit and with some top hip hop lyrics over top if u didnt know the song u couldnt tell it used to be rnb or whatevr i rekin

"welcome to my world, do you feel alive? it's all a bad dream spinning in your lonely head"

dj-freedom If someone's trying to break into the scene by producing tracks then they need to find their own induvidual sound so why not experiment?
If r n b or rock or even tots tv samples work then why not try it?

slavetomysoundwave If something sounds good in a HC set - RnB, hip-hop, rock, anything - then put it in. Playing around with ideas like that can lead to great things...

Knightmare Don't know about happy hardcore with r 'n b, I hate r 'n b. But Happycore with some fast acid breakbeat and stuff works, also d&b and hardcore is cool, and if you really wanna go Extreme, try speedcore and Death Metal. The result of the latter is a style like the Berzerker, screaming, metal guitar riffs,909 and a bassline of over 250 BPM. THAT, my friends, Is wicked!

!GABBER 4 LIFE!
bigmaddaz hey dude i think u should mix whatever u wanna mix. if it sounds good then stick with it
